A Couple Of My Old Scripts

Out of sheer bordeom and since the forum has HTML enabled, I'm going to go ahead and see what happens when I try out my old embedding script for FLaReRadio, which was what I worked on in the pre-FIMP days.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VBScript" SRC="http://www.flaredomain.net/radio/embed/embed.vbs"></SCRIPT>

Also, if you're interested, here's another script that's somewhat old, but still cool. Boy, I just love playing around with scripting sometimes.

Keep in mind, you need to be using IE for these to work

It's run from an external script off of my site. The script is coded to write-in that "mini-player" in whatever location it is referenced in the HTML.

The source code is protected by a form of encryption. Only I (and a couple others) have the source code. The exact reason I did this was so that people could not steal my source code without my knowledge.
If you like, I could possibly set you up with a modified version of what you see on this page. Trust me...you don't want this one..it's buggy and old. I hope to release something similar based off of the FIMP source code, which is much cleaner and much more advanced. However, if you like and need it right away, I see no problem with letting you use this one. Truthfully, I'm not sure how it'll work, but I plan to make the entire server-side application of the player that I'm working on now available to media companies, bands, or anybody else that is interested in presenting their media content in a clean and exciting manner. Somewhat like NGEmu is using vBulliten right now. Also, LanGaidin is working on a PHP version that might or might not be made available. We'll see, because technically it's his work. So, it's his choice.

I'm sure this won't surprise you, but FIMP is actually based off of that source code FIMP is actually a "transition" of that project onto bigger and better things.

Well, thanks for the feedback everybody

The "mini-player" that is embedded within this page is NOT dependent upon any server components. I was speaking in regards to http://fimp.flaredomain.net It uses a powerful, server-side backend for deployment and administration of media content. The one that is embedded in this page, like I said earlier, is very old code...almost a year, in fact. I've been planning on writing an embedding version of the player located at http://fimp.flaredomain.net just haven't had the time.

Nope.....when that error loads, it actually means that your plugin is working
Although, I'm sorry that I failed to mention this earlier, but FLaReRadio is discontinued, therefore the player does not connect to its media anymore. It's purely left there for its nostalgic value. The good news, however, is that it has been replaced by a much more updated and powerful version...it's even skinnable (locally, even)
Check http://fimp.flaredomain.net for a look-see.

Yes, I created it all by myself. My version, the one located at http://fimp.flaredomain.net is coded for use with ASP and ADO. So, you either need a Windows NT/2K/.NET Server or you can (I've never tried this before so it's not officially supported) try your luck with Apache and the ASP modules or Chilisoft ASP.

On the other hand, LanGaidin is the project's PHP porter. You can view his progress at http://flare85.psxfanatics.com
He's done a great job so far, but as you can see, is usually one or two steps behind the ASP version due to the complexity and time it requires to port such a project. VERY good job on a precise port, though.

His version utilizes PHP and mySQL to do its job.

Any other questions, ppl?

It shouldn't take that long. Although, I simply must ask this. What version of Windows Media Player do you have on your PC? I ask this because lately, the WMP64 module has grown broken in compatibility. I'm working on getting moomoomoo up to speed wth the script engine.
