yeah, i would choose summons too, because all other rpgs copied that idea.

I voted for others cause to me it has to have a really good plot. The other things, although important are of secondary importance to me. Take ff7, its considered one of the best, if not the best ff of the series, even though its far behind ffx in the graphics stakes. But of course, ease of use of abilities and learning of magic is important to me. Personally liked the turn based battle system of x as opposed to the time based one of the previous games.

I chose limit breaks. I really like the idea of it... the concept of using the character's rage/desperation as a last resort. Summoned creatures would be second; they're pretty cool, but sometimes this concept is badly used...

*sigh* must we have more Final Fantasy polls? There are other games in this world you know.

That being said, here's my $.02

Final Fantasy is notorious for ripping off ideas from other great works. Oftentimes they have done the job just as good, or better than what they were ripping off though, so I haven't complained. However, I think it's hardly appropriate to select those items as being Final Fantasy "concepts", as the majority of them were stolen from other works.

I voted plot, although the recent games have done nothing for me in that department.

Yeah, I actually find the majority of these "concepts" to be more gimmicks than anything else. Actually the focus on some of this stuff (summoning, limit breaks, etc) over plot is what's taking away from the quality of the FF series. Obviously I vote for plot.

ever since ff6 when they had like a BUNCH of summons... i was disappointed at the small number of summons they had in the later series... but i think they still look cool and definitely turn the tide of the game

Man i never noticed the plot thing. There has to be a plot or else there was no idea of playing it. Plot goes nr 1 for me and Summon is nr 2

We'll i think there is nothin wrong with this FF polls, I just want to get peoples ideas of this concepts, I dont really care if their just gimmicks or stolen, the important thing is that it is the one that makes FF a great game. and if you have any complains dont open this thread! or make your own poll, I think thats not a problem.
note: Hey ninja i cant remember any game that Final fantasy stole their concept from that is on the poll, If there is can you give me its name?
