The easiest/most difficult bosses in RPGs

Just want to liven up the boards here a bit with another RPG-related thread

Of all the RPGs you've played what were the easiest and hardest bosses for you to beat and why? For me they would be:

Easiest:
Kefka (FF6) - By the time I reached him my characters were ungodly powerful and he went down in under 2 rounds doing less than 2000 points of damage. He didn't even get a chance to pull off some of his more powerful attacks.

Most difficult:
Emerald Weapon (FF7) - One of the most challenging bosses I've faced. It takes a lot of magic, levels and preparation to beat this guy. I lost to him about 7 or 8 times before I finally discovered how to beat him.

Other difficult bosses were: Optional dragon boss in FF4 who casts giga flare (?). The only way I could beat him to was have Kain jump before he attacked. The final boss in FF4 was also very difficult, a lot more challenging than the FF2 US version. Shinryuu and Omega in FF5 were also very difficult and nearly impossible to beat unless you know their weakness.

So, what are your easiest/hardest bosses? You can choose any boss, including sub-bosses and optional bosses.

For some god forsaken reason, i always had trouble defeating the first dragon tank in chrono trigger. I just could not beat it! I finally managed to do it after leveling up for about an hour.

Easiest boss: A lot. If you mean easiest final boss, that would be Sephiroth in FF7.

Hardest boss: Emerald Weapon and Ruby Weapon in FF7.

In my list, the easiest and hardest are in FF7....

also, some of the easiest bosses are in golden axe, chrono trigger (they take long, but are not hard... such as most yakras), the squid boss in ff6 was rather easy, although annoying in the arena cause of "sneeze"... but imo the easiest last boss in any game would be in fallout 1, the last boss... whom, if you have a high enough charisma and intelligence, you can talk into killing himself, now, dont you agree thats an easy last boss?

some of the hardest bosses were in soul reaver 1 because it was sometimes hard to figure out how exactly you beat them, i always found the tentacle bus in figaro castle in ff6 rather hard but thats just me, and a few of the dragons in ff6 were hard... if you werent cheap and didnt black hole your bosses in that game... some of the weapons in ff7 were also really hard

Easiest? 99% of Final Fantasy's bosses. Thousand Arms gets a special mention for being ridiculously easy even if you're trying to run through it with next to no spells and no upgraded weapons. Um...actually, there are a lot of easy bosses. The hardest are also easy to point out: optional bosses. These are almost always the hardest (and usually only) challenging bosses. As the rules of RPGs notes, if these secret bosses ever decided to take over the world, the world would have no chance.

easiest to beat boss for me: Sephiroth of FF7 <-- casting knights of the round easily beats him.

hardest to beat boss for me: omega weapon of ff8, emerald and ruby weapon of ff7 and ozma of ff9. <-- i think you should carefully plan your strategies before facing these guys.

Hardest? Zeromus in FF4j. He was incredibly hard since I barely levelled up at all throughout the game.

Easiest? Ultimecia. I beat her with Squall alone.

Easy: Most bosses. The ones in FF8 were especially comical, since I’d sit around pulling spells from them before putting them out of their misery.

Difficult: Final Fantasy 4 (Japanese) — for that I needed to check a FAQ for a certain trick. The final boss in Vagrant Story was very hard for me, though that may be because my weapon was worn out.

yea zophar was hard, but i think Borgan was so incredibly hard for me. He had three orbs orbiting him which finished me off after he did his gravity bomb. ARRRGH!

I thought the weapons were really easy once u were prepared for it. A lot of work, but not hard.

Bahamut?

Here are my choices. I've included only "regular" bosses, since as Ryos pointed out optional ones are always too hard and I don't usually have the patience necessary to beat them.

Easiest: Not counting bosses that can be beaten with cheap tricks (like Vanish+Doom in FF6), I'd pick Daos from Lufia 2. After you get the Dual Blade, Maxim is so poweful I don't even need to heal him. Heck, I'm pretty sure he could take all 4 Sinistrals by himself!

Hardest: Last boss in Romancing Saga 3 ("The Destroyer", I think). It's a long battle, in a game where pretty much all forms of healing suck. And, since I didn't have a dedicated healer like Undine, my job was a lot harder. Took me quite a few tries, and in the end I managed to win with only Leonid still standing.

I find the earlier FF bosses (1-4) were much more difficult than the later ones. Most of the later FF bosses you can cheap. Ryos is right though, the optional bosses are among the most difficult bosses in RPGs. Bosses like Omega, Shinryu of FF5, Ruby & Emerald weapon of FF7, and Omega weapon of FF8 require the utmost resources to defeat and are much more difficult than the final bosses themselves.

Easiest: too many.

The hardest enemies are:

Indalecio with Limiter off, Universe mode, Star Ocean 2.
Gabrie Celeste, Universe mode, Star Ocean 2.

Since I've played only a single RPG, let me add my little contribution. I have to say that the toughest boss is Ultima Weapon in FFX (an optional boss).

There are too many easy ones. The first sinspawn, eg.

In my opinion, Omega Weapon would be much more easier if you have 100 heroes. Anyway, FF8 shouldn't be a problem if you have the right junction and Heroes... or it is?

Syed Fawad, is there a Omega Weapon too in FFX? I remember I seen it somewhere else...

I mean if you fight him without hero or holy war or even using Lion heart.(I defeated him without those)

and you forgot something you have to be killed many times to know his techneque before you defeat him.
