Suikoden 2 intro problems

I have a problem with the intro of suikoden 2. Oddly, For epsxe 1.52, the intro becomes VERY slow when I load it up (and it affects the sound along with it). I did not have this problem in epsxe 1.51 (only a sound stuttering problem with the intro, which is still present in 1.52) I use pete's openGL gpu 1.65 for this game and his latest spu. I do not think it is the spu problem, because when I set the setting to "fast" in pete's gpu, the intro was fast - TOO fast (in fact, it was so fast, it sounded funny.... ) I tried changing the setting, but strangely I could not optain the "normal" speed I got in 1.51 (it was either too fast or too slow or ULTRA slow) This only happened for the intro, the rest of the game ran fine (including the reminesence movie - which had no stuttering of sound either. Odd.) Can someone tell me what is the problem?
