Lightbulb I know it's just a dream, but...

I have been playing RPG games for 4-5 years. At the beginning on SNES and NES emulator (I tried even GB emu, but those RPG games were so stupid, I think), later on PC (Diablo 1 &2, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder...).

Then I started to really love japanese RPG games on PSX. I guess these games give me what I like, nice graphics ( I am wondering what time do they spent to create such a awesome gfx), deep plot and original game systems.

BUT...

Always I have been dreaming about game that will fulfill all my expectations. I know, this is not only my point of view, probably everyone of you want to experience game that will have simply EVERYTHING. Till know every game had lack of something, I don't know what it was, but I was always missing a piece.

I put this thread here, just to think about what this everything in "ultimate RPG game" should be...

Thanks for your ideas in advance.

P.S. I feel like Xenogears was in chance to be that game (to me), but even creators admitted that the game was not finished as intended. There was, as usual, missing a piece...

project ego will have it all... al we've missed until now.. goto: http://www.lionhead.co.uk/ (nice background music btw ) then click on games and then on project ego... this game is so amazing because:
you start as á young little hero... you can run around without limitations through a huge map... now that's not so special BUT.... the character gets older... and taller and if you start prcatising you get muscles if you wanna use spells and stuff you won't be such s trong person... also if you get a scar you will have it your whole life long... the people you meet on your way get older too... imagine: when you are young you save a little girl from a baaad grizzly and 10 years later you come back and are a hero for her... btw she got some biiiiig "front bumpers" and loves you more than anything else ... the kewl thing about this game is that even if you wanna burn down a house or so you can actually do it... look at some of the screenies you will be amazed... also there's something like the karma... if you're bad all the time people will probably know and start attacking you and stuff like that... i think this game (by peter moulineux [is this his name??]) will make a real breaktrough... i nearly forgot to say that you can also customize your character and one very amazing plot is that tree's and plants grow older too... i'm not sure but i heard there'd be a main plot but you don't have to solve it... you can also just skip it and walk around and kill some rabbits... (die all rabbits *nyahahahaharrr* )

edit: here: http://planetxbox.com/projectego/ youll find some interestin´g info's oh btw the game won't only be available for xbox... the pc realease is also planned... i know xbox sucks quite d**k but hey the game's great...

This game is something. If it comes out to be what it is supposed to be, this game alone can raise XBOX's sale.

Morrowind? never heard of it

It'll be a loss if this game is released ONLY for XBOX.

this game was started to develop before the x-box came out.. first it was only a pc game... then i guess microsoft saw what potential lives up in this games and simply bought it... so they can bring it out for xbox too... also morrowind has a story in this game you can do whatever you want... you can go north east south west or just stay where you are and get old and grey... another nice feature is that you can tattoo yourself in the face or the body or whereever

yeah i think so... a life goes from something like 16 ( or so) to 70 (not quite sure) a nice feature is that noone can tell you now... go to that path at that time and you'll meet that guy who gives you this... it depends on what you do for example (it's gettig weird) let's say you talk to some guy in town this guy talks to YOU now for a while so he can't do what he wanted to do at that time (or example buy some apples) now let's say that the guy you wanted to meet who gives you something goes to exactly that shop and buys the apples that normally wouldn't have been there and suddenly he got something to do (eat apples) and can't be on that special place at that special time... okok maybe i'm overdoing it a bit but it would be cool

I heard about this game some time ago and I really liked the idea that if u stayed indoors and underground alot (basicly, away from the sun) u'd turn into a pale vampire!! I think there's a screen shot of that. BTW, Halo had the same treatment. It was first PC only then Microsoft bought it and delayed it like hell then made it XBOX exclusive and who knows if it will really be released on the PC. But in my opinian, this game won't make it. There's just too much freedom for the "feel" of an RPG to be there. They'll either ristrict u and make it a good normal RPG or leave u so much freedom it would turn into a life simulator )

This game seems to be good, but it's definitely not a japanese RPG. So there most likely won't be any characters player can become attached to, gripping storyline and other traits we love japanese RPGs for...

wat would really be kool is maybe start when u r 5 (make the time go by fast) so u can get 2 kno the character n ppl n then slow it down when u get older that way u can either be a loud rebelious kid or a quiet goody goody n maybe make it in the future but not 2 distant or the past (i think we have 2 many past rpgs)

*EDIT*
look at the horror that i managed 2 scrapu up

Will it be released on any platform other then the Xbox?
At the time of writing...no. There are no plans for any sort of port to other platforms. You'll have to buy the Xbox to play this one.
i just hope this isnt true otherwise thisll REALLY suck
