Does *.avi files have to do with divx thingy? Cause I have a video I wanted to watch but only the sound comes out. I have divx 5.02 or somthing like that. But it doesnt work....N e one know whats up?

the extension .avi is usually a dvd rip, well try to download DIVX player or else update your media player, or maybe get the divx newest files, cannot remember if the 5.02 is the latest one, but i got some files in .avi that i cannot watch.. and never solved the problem even with the latest divx files and media player, but i think the problem are the files...

All files aren't encoded with 5.xx divx so you need to download older versions of Divx like 3.11 alpha for example....

So the resolution is simple... just download 3.11 alpha divx and/or older versions older than 5.xx

search for divx lite. its the 5.01 codecs only. not sure if its legal or not?

3.11 is codecs only too but wont support as many files since most encoding is on the newer 5.xx codecs.

Just load the movie in this program and it will tell you the drivers you need, including the smr3 patch. Yet, i still can't play every movie i have but for the avis i cant play i just click on properties and then in preview if the the video can be seen in that way, then the video is not bad.
