smallest iso

hi
i have seen on the web many very compact iso-because they removed cinematics and music.
I would ilke to know how they did it (which software they used, if any), cos id like to do it myself, for some of my psx cds.
(actually i dont care/cut when possible/about cinmatics and musics...

thanx

I suppose you could dump the audio tracks from the cd image. Then, I suppose you could replace the movie files (.str files) with one's of a very small size, then you would have then issue with getting the thing to boot. It sounds like a good idea but it would be a lot of effort, plus on some games you have the movie clip in the background and 3d graphics on top (eg. FF9), you would need to keep them movies....

they could just dump everyfile, and remove/ edit and use nero to make the modified cd

I did it once with cdrwin, just dumped the data and not the audio. I forgot the exact method =P

Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer revolution are extremely small without music, and some games just are very small.

vidhath, the reason why you have more posts might be...the year you registerd??? anyway, people see this as a forum for asking isos because its about emulation, but first they should read the rules,i mean, there are forums for asking roms and isos, why dont they bother going there????its better then getting banned....anyway,i saw a really small iso yesterday, one of my pals made a backup from bloody roar2 and then they zipped it and it was like...less then a 100 meg!!!when uzipped it was about(not really shure)over 500 megs...talking about compression

actually, what they do, is they have one of those self-extracting zips, and RAR it up. in that method, its possible to cram 700 MB down to 150 or even less O_O

Very bad reason to hate one, if you haven't noticed most are newone's who might have missed the rule and ask about iso's. Perhaps an earlier board allowed it and thus they thought it was allowed here to. Think before you write

me too

but when i go to new boards, i normally skip the rules, and just learn by example from other people.
over at the ZSNES boards, i learned that you couldnt post porn, unless someone was asking for ROMs. Then you could link them to homosexual porn saying it was the "BEST R0MZ SITE IN TEH INTANET!"
