MIDI to WAV/MP3 Converter?

I saw a post about converting audio to MIDI - but is there a program that can convert MIDI files to something like MP3 or WAV?

In Linux, a program called TiMidity++ exists, which is a Midi to Wav converter, mp3 encoding can be done afterwards.
But you should be aware that midi consists of notes, so different sequencers and synthesizers can generate different results.
