games help!

i have silent hill and dino crisis and both of them have no sound or voices in the fmv. is this a known problem? is it the same with fmv in all games? also in silent hill i get white squares around the characters and trees etc. im using petes d3d driver 1.63. does 1.64 solve this/these problems. where can i get it?

Enable Mask Bit to fix the white squares in Silent Hill.

Don't know about your sound problem though.

mask bit makes the game really slow. is this normal and is there a way to stop it?

Most plugins come with documentation, or at least if you get them without the 'pack' the docs tell you about common bugs changes since the last revision and things like that.

I suppose it depends on the system. Mask bit doesn't effect my speed at all.

For sound enable XA audio. As raziel has suggested this is included in the documentation supplied with the emu/plugins. IIRC this is mentioned in the "help" menu of the emu.

It is alway best to have the latest versions of the GPU plugins. Vers. 1.64 is the latest version of pete's GUP plugins and contains many improvements. You can get it from the main page of NGEmu.com
