Question What are those lines in Ff7?

Hi there. I'm new here and this is my first thread (does anybody cares?). I was playing Final fantasy 7, with Pete's ogl 1.63 plugin and when I turned on the extended + smoothed sprites options, these green lines appeared. Why does this happen? Is there a way to prevent it? Thanks.

try another filtering mode to make the green lines disappear. i personally use filtering #4.

remember that turning on filtering will cause graphical glitches as the manual says.

It's not there where I get the lines, it's in the 2-d part of the game. These lines appear on the borders of objects.

What works best for me is I turn off Filtering and I enable Screen Smoothing. But depending on your system, it may run slow.

MasterYoshidino: You may find the ff7 special game fix is off (hence the reason why your screenshot is showing errors).

IIRC, there are close to no textures in FF7.

try this setting..

Petes ogl pluggin
4xFSAA enabled(for 3d characters)
resolution of 640x480

should run ok on your geforce mx.. If not then disable FSAA.. But your 3d characters may look bad..

And like the documents that come with petes pluggins says.. Sprite smoothing causes problems with FF7.. FF9 works fine with it though..

Here is a demo of those settings on FF7.. On a voodoo 5 though with 4xFSAA..

I don't have that option you're talking about, 4xfsaa...

It's a hardware option.. Check in your advanced display properties.. YOur geforce2 mx should have the options to disable or enable FSAA.. There is a performance hit though.. Use the resolution of 640x480 and set filtering to standard w/out sprites or extended w/out sprites..

Couldn't find it, hehe... probably because everything is in Spanish and I have no clue what does Fsaa means...

Here is a screenshot of the lines he is talking about. Specifiically look at the things hanging off the ceiling.

They are all over the place, and seem to trace around things.

Here is another that shows the lines behind objects:

This is using ePSXe 1.52, w/Pete's OpenGL 1.63 .. Texture qual,ty max, filtering level 6, OSD=3, FB=2, FBA=3. Game fixes are FF7 text boxes and fake FSAA.
