Question?

I was having indeed a very good deal for a Geforce 4 MX Series card , but one thing that really really bugged me was that the card was by some company name Pine Technologies, well they make motherboards and other computer stuff, but hey I'v never heard this name before, the man (sales person) says that this is a certified card by nVidia and I also saw a Certification logo on the card's box.(it can be fake)

Im myself of the view that card should be of good company like Asus, Gigabyte, Visiontek etc etc, but I just wanted to know if someone knows about this weird named company Pine :S

Never heard of it. Try to get info from someone that works for Nvidia for a more accurate answer.

Actually, he's right. A Celeron (Mendocino) is actually a Pentium II with a slower FSB and less cache. The cache is on-die though so it's twice as fast as the cache on a Pentium II. Performance-wise they run more or less equal; an overclocked Celeron 450 and a P2 450 run neck-to-neck. The Coppermine Celerons run really slow though, compared to the Coppermine Pentium 3s.

Intel calls all their low-cost CPUs celeron, there are P2-like celerons, P3-like celerons and there will probably be P4-like celerons. (Or are they already?)
The very first Celerons (without Cache) were painfully slow, but the Celeron 300A was the first to more-or-less equal a P2/300, as Demigo pointed out.

The Celeron 300A was a fantastic overclocker and was the darling of the overclocking community at the time. It was able to scale to 450 Mhz (100x4.5) with no additional cooling. Certain other Celeron models were good overclockers, my Celeron 366 was a good one. I was able to take it to 500 Mhz air-cooled.

ammoQ: Intel recently introduced the Celeron 1.7 and 1.8 Ghz, which are based on the P4 Willamette core.
