Smile A message to our members

I see a lot of you read this forum, that is great. This way I can say what I have to say aand, hopefully, it wil get to everyone.
I just want to say that, as far as I'm concerned, we have the greatest bunch of members and guests I have ever seen.
I have been on other boards (the original ePSXe board, the bleem! boards, and the VGS boards, to name a few) and these boards were a mess. Swearing, lamers, rom begging, you name it, it was there. The ones running sites tried to stop it, but it still persisted.
I believe that it was not the fault of the Webmaster(s) or Admins that these boards got like this, I believe it was the kind of members on the boards that did that.
Fortunately, PSXEmu and NGEmu have alway had good decent people on the boards. Most of these bpeople uphold the rules and help out where and whenever they can. There have been a few exceptions, but hey, there are exceptions to everything.
So what I am saying is if all of you board members, regulars, and guests, will continue to act as you allready have, we may just be able to keep NGEmu alive. If Bobbi sees how nicely and smoothly things are going then it may help to convince him to continue.
Thanks all for hearing me out and you really are the best bunch a person could associate with. You all are like my extended family. Take care.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Well its good to hear. I for one have tried my best to uphold the rules and have attempted to make each and every post count in some way. Hopefully i can speak on behalf of all the other members out there in saying that we will support NGEmu all the way, and will never give up. Life has its ups and downs and at the moment this could be classed as a down but there is always an up around the corner, we just have to be patient and ride it through. If us dedicated members and followers of the emulation scene can stick together and tough it out I am sure, if not positive NGEmu will see it through.

I know not what is happening behind the scenes here but If there is anything that I or anyone else can do to help this great site pull through and even improve, I would be glad to help. This site has been a great help to me even though i have only been around for a little while, i have loved chatting with most of you and hope to chat even more in the future.

Thanks for the reply Xkalbur. I agree with what you said and this is exactally what i was talking about. As for what happened, I, myself, do not know either. As far as that goes, I don't think I want to. Take care and keep the faith.
sincerely,

You don't really grasp the full extent of the problem, sxamiga, because you're never into the battlezone that is off-topic.

It's kinda like war, the (10 red-star) generals stay in their warm, cozy offices and sip their hot coffee, while the lowly privates and their captains slug it out in the muddy trenches of off-topic and spam with the lamerz. The generals say they know the situation and what it's like out there, but all they really know are the field reports being given to them. It's another thing also to actually CARE about and ACT to what's happening over there.

No offense sxamiga; really sir, it's nothing personal.... but with all due respect you don't know nothing about the whole situation. If you did, you would've known what to do and have done it already.

Shiori, I see what you're saying. But at the same time, I do not wish to be involved in certain things and off topic is one of them. I can't relate to and I don't like what goes on in there. So I stay out of there. Clear enough? Okay, as you say, I don't know what is going on there, but you say you do?? Then as an Admin and a friend (I hope), in a PM would you please enlighten me? If you would, again in a PM, then maybe I can help in some way. I sincerely wish to help and if I know the story, I might be able to. If you would do this for me so that I may help NGEmu and Bobbi as well, I will be forever grateful. Thanks for any consideration.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

It's real simple, sxamiga: we need more admin who will do the dirty job of cleaning up off-topic from the lamerz. What's a few more admin to add anyway? it's not like Bobbi or Thorgal or the others are paying you guys monthly salaries, so I really don't get why they're so hesitant in promoting people. Can't you trust us? some of us have been here longer than two current admin: Shadow Lady and Evil Squall, yet they got that just for posting a few snippets of emu news. I'd post news for you guys for twenty years if it means saving the boards.

And where are they now? ES gets a free pass for now due to ISP problems, but Shadow Lady is a disappointing quitter.

I agree with Shiori we need more admins that are willing to do the dirty job and get rid of the lamers. Remember Sandie thats what he is talking about. I would personally love to see Shiori as a admin because I straight up know he would do a very good job of destorying lamers. One good thing about Shiori is he (or she ) is willing to do what it takes to bring down the level of lameness around here as well as many people are willing to do. Now I belive lots of people have built up a certain amount of trust to be admins. Handling the boards are not a easy job I realize this but you guys can help this board out by appointing admins that handle situations the correct way. Shiori, Samor, Lord Kane, Raziel and others spring to mind. Alot of people have been quiting here such as Ryos, Keith, Shadow Lady and Evil Squall is not around either. Really we could have just more Super Moderators to help clear out the boards though admins would be better because they would not have to wait of admins to come on and ban people. Though this is just my opinion I belive that this applies to many members here at Ngemu this is a great board but to keep it that way we must hire more admins or Super Moderators.

Damn, it's really sad to read all this... But I think if we all do as sxamiga ALWAYS suggests, we could be able to keep the board running smoothly, everyone from admins, users to guests need to make his part helping where help is needed and teaching the board rules for newcomers.
Please guys, don't argue, this place is my second home, I can't spent a day without dropping by.
Everyone doing their job is just enough to keep the board a nice place to stay. And you don't need to be an admin to do that.
Best regards,
Rafael

Thanks cooliscool and Omegainf. It is people like you that we need right now. So far everything is going smoothly, so let's continue to hope that it does so.
Cooliscool, thanks for the offer. If you can help, I'll be sure to let you know. The same goes for you as well Omegainf. Thanks, both, for being there.

I just have to say, even though I am no longer a part of this community I still moderate this forum from time to time. Why you might ask? Well because it is my job, atleast until I am moved into the new contributors group that is.

I have already posted my comments about this forum and my reasons for leaving the community. It is just way to negitive, depressing, and the direction of the forums seems to be going into ruling with an iron fist. I don't think you can change things with Force, you need to give back a little before taking away more from the users.

My main reason for posting is because I just want to say something, just because we are not seen posting, doesn't mean we don't do our jobs. I delete threads, close threads, and message offenders when need be. Do you guys see this? I highly doubt it and maybe you think we are not doing anything, when the truth is we are. Unless you are an admin it is kinda hard to judge one. This is not directed at anyone, I just think it needs to be said so others don't start thinking we are good for nothing, and not active.

It's really not that bad Shiori. I know. Sure there are a couple questionable threads but that's about it. Esturk is here and is NOT going anywhere.

Ok, problem solved and I am here now, I see nothing wrong with the Off-topic forum, posts got closed when they should be. BTW, about Shadow Lady, she isn't an admin, she's been promoted to super-mod after she joined the newsposter possition, all she had to do is get the news-posting job well done.

Now that you mentioned, I havent seen Shadow Lady closing threads or giving out warnings...IIRC.
About the lamers, Betamax did a good job of getting rid of most of them. I dont really see any "lamers" around here now, I should think that the Lamer period is over. But thats just what Im thinking.
Oh and SxAmiga: Ill do my part the best way I can to keep things smooth. I cant bear to think of this place going down...

So she had left, I didn't know that. Just search over the off-topic forum and found that post. That's bad.

My comments about all this....
Ngemu forums has not been the same lately....
Emuforums has changed a lot....but all we know that it can be worse if we don't do nothing.....we are a community here and i guess everyone who feels this way too is thinking the same way i do....
one thing we need to know: nothing is gonna change until we do something...
thats it....
