There's no need to get so angry cajun. Sony has seriously botched the PS2, and Nintendo is stronger than ever. That much is undeniable.

A Sony/Nintendo alliance would probably lower the quality of the console and raise the overall price. But hey, if you like that sort of thing, go ahead and wish for it. I just can't guarantee that it will happen in this millenia.

Nah, Sony would insist on using their lasers. (Nintendo would object I'm sure). Anyway, I am positive that if Sony had any input on the design or manufacture, the console would be crap.

I haven't lost a Nintendo yet, and I have owned every system since NES. Can you say the same about the PSX?

I losty the original NES actualy, Ninja. My SNES is also definately on it's last legs.
The only reason my PSX broke was cause I opened it.
It's all about how you treat the console.

I found that NES consoles just got dirty. With a little cleaning, they are as good as new.

My SNES has a broken power adapter plugin, but it still works if you put tin foil in the opening. Sorry, but last legs doesn't mean much to me. If it works, it works.

I know people who have treated their PSX well, but have still gone through several of them. It is much harder to find someone with a broken SNES, or N64.

Both my brother's SNES' power adaptors failed.
Why have a double standard for Sony/ Nintendo.
Nintendo frelled up with thier power adapors up to thier second console.
Sony messed up with the CD reader in thier first two consoles. Have a little more faith.

I lost one power adaptor for my SNES, but I think I might have overloaded it with my tinfoil trick. (my nephew ripped the plug out of the back of SNES). At any rate, a replacement costs like $10, and is nothing too serious. You can buy one from your local Walmart without incident.

Now try the same thing with a defective laser....

i dont know if that was cleared up, the thread is too long, but its just pathetic to claim that nintendo will dump the GC. They said, that there is no future for a continous hardware battle, with new systems getting released on an almost yearly basis and that they will focus on the GC instead, by making awesome software, instead of building newer faster and better machines. Most likely this can be seen as answer to the PS3 which is supposed to hit stores already next year, destroying the 5-6 year lifecycle of consoles. And this is about as right as any company could ever be.
all the countless mistakes from the past aside, if you ask me nintendo is on the road of success.

Every mistake is another step closer to the correct solution you know. Between the PSX disaster and the N64 though, I think Nintendo has it all figured out now. Don't get Sony to develop peripherals, and if you get someoen to do it, make sure you protect your intellectual property, and a new console must be cheap and easy to develop for.

yeah that was a strength of the first psx, but sony really dropped the ball with ps2 making it a bit*h to develop for.
