Good lord... been a long time since I've been on... why? Well, mucho happenings... anyhow.. I'm back now... at least for a while... bloomin' hard drive started making a funky beat a few weeks ago... then suddenly up and died on me. ALL my memcard saves.. ALL my dexdrive saves... EVERY... SINGLE... PSEMU save... is GONE... I ranted and threw things around for about a week... sigh... and now I'm just sad.

Anyhow... so.. to alleviate my sadness... I ... naturally... bought another hard drive (well, did that immediately after the death of the first one)... reinstalled FFVII... and FInally... FINALLY...after.. ALL THESE YEARS... finished it. My question now, however, is... okay... for those of you who never finished... don't continue reading... but for those who have...

After the credits... they show Red XIII with his cute little children. How.. .is that supposed to happen when Red was supposedly the last of his kind? Unless... Red was really a girl... and... uhmm... her species has a really long gestation period?

*deeeep breath* that's about it... happy I finished another FF game though... now to finish FFVIII... gawd.. have to start from the beginning... I'd dexdrived my saved games onto my OLD hard drive... lord help me.

Welcome back.

Well, you aren't the only one to have that happen to you. When my seagate HD died on me a while ago, I was pissed as well cause I had ALL of my save games and I didn't back them up. When I got my new hard drive, I kept reinstalling cause windows would get screwed up for some reason. I had to start FF8 from the start about 5 times and I still haven't beaten it, *sigh*. I have beaten FF7, though. That was a great game. I also wondered about how Red XIII could have kids.....

ahh.. so I am not the only one slightly puzzled... about Red's children... so... methinks they might asexually reproduce... which would be unfortunate... because the utter lack of genetic variety... ah well. Perhaps someone knows the real answer...

Hello and welcome back. Letsee the last ff question you posed took 20 pages to answer. All bets are off for this one

I'm not too sure of this but IIRC I read somewhere that red XIII and his kind were products of Hojo/Gast's Mako experimentation. Prologed human exposure to mako causes mutation and originally they were human. So I assume that this means that both species are compatible.

(pure speculation of my own continues from here on)

We know that Red's father was a beast. But what about his mother? No mention of this but we assume that she was the same. However Red XIII calls the old man at cosmo canyon his grandfather. It might then be the case that Red's mother was actually human and the old man's daughter?

Oh and I think this should be in game discussion.

Wellcome back.

I heard somewhere that FFVII wasnt finished. There was still alot of other things and places in it, but were taken out. I don't know if it's true, but that might by why Red XIII had kids. I'm not going to think about it too much till I get FFXII for ps2, but first I'm going to have to wait for it to come out.

Very interesting theories.. and I forgot about game discussion, sorry.. but...

Okay... I suppose... Red's mother could have been human... but I guess i was just... trying not to think of Beastiality... uhmm... and wasn't Red's grandfather more... like a surrogate father?

*also* think about it.. if you were to splice the genes of a beast and a human... would Red not have come out a *little* more humanoid appearing? sigh... what a thing... what a dilemma... although... I'm enjoying this disussion much more than the "look how pretty my girlfriend is" thread.

What if the mako energy that Red was exposed to made him more "beastly" than human. So it afftected his appearance. That way, he could be stronger cause he has his animal instincts.

He could be mutaed to where he had both male and female organs, somewhat like a snail does. Then, perhaps, he could impregnate himself and produce chldren. Snails cannot do this, it requires two snails to produce more snails. But snails do posses both male and female organs, therefore, both can reproduce.

Hmmm, much speculation has been done about the story in FFVII, esp. the ending. This is a file I think Demigod posted a while ago. It clears alot of things so u should all give it a try. Everyone thought (even me

) that FFVII was really great but that the ending wasn't good (read: sucked). This made me look at the whole game in a different way. It's even much better now in my opinion. So, give it a try
