How do i record sound from tv to pc ?

I dont have a microphone ( and the quality would be low if i used one ) But is there any other way to record sound from a tv to my pc ? I want to record the chatterbox channel radio conversation of GTA3 and send it to my friend.... Franando is so funny

you need a converter that will allow you to connect the composite leads to the line in jack on your soundcard.

err Bgnome , can you make things clearer for me ? I have no idea what kind of converter i need.....
...and sending my friend my PS2 and GTA3 isnt a good idea, because he's not going to return it

use a cable that goes from the headphones or line out connection from your tv to the line in on your soundcard. Even better would be connecting directly from ps2 to pc, if possible (it probably is, with the right cables).

Or use the old fashion way, hook up a microphone and put it near the TV speakers

I tried connecting the two via headphone and microphone jack didnt work , Ive tried doing that last time

should be headphone and line-in (not microphone) jack...and , make sure the volume is turned up on both tv and pc.

Also make sure that you higher the Line-in vol control form within wndows.

I think, but it has limited recording time afaik. Try wavestudio, cooledit or goldwave.

I need to turn my modem off....... cause my powerplant's not powerfull enough to support the monitor , the tower, the fan , the altec lansing , the tv , the ps2 , the modem and the lights all at the same time

I needed some sort of light to do all the hardware settings
I tried , the sound came from my pc speakers alright, but the recorder didnt record anything.....some sort of settings must be done , probably. But even after I finish recording I wont be able to post the whole conversation here since it takes about 80MB in wav and 8 MB in mp3 format

Oh, I recorded it at CD quality, resulting in a size of 8mb. I think ill be able to record a low quality one that takes about 2mb

You can change recording options in the windows volume control.
(Menu: > start/programs/accesories/entertainment/volume control)

choose options, properties
choose adjust volume for recording. There you can select it.

oh, and try recording at 22khz 16 bit stereo.
