Type of fighters

What type of fighters do you usually use in fighting games (fast ones, strong ones.....)?

ones with a simple yet extended gameplay, i'm gonna say it again: LAST BLADE 2, it's got it all, flashy moves, powermoves, fast moves, insane combo's..... and wacky characters

The one who I identify with.
I started with Ryu, so I stuck with him. When Ken became faster, I moved to him.
In Last Blade, I went with Moirya, as he reminded me most of Kenshin.
In Tekken 3, I went with Hwoarang, as my brother said he was undefeatable.....( I soon proved him wrong when I mastered Bryan )
In most other games, I pick the cover character, until I find an appropriate alternative (Liu Kang, Mitsurugi, Terry Bogard, etc.....)

I always try to learn many characters for each game, but my first choice is always the "main" character of a game... for example :

Fatal Fury --> Terry Bogard (I select Rock in the latest installment of the series)

Street Fighter --> Ryu

Art of Fighting --> Ryo Sakazaki

Rival Schools --> Batsu (along with another member of Taiyo High)

Last Blade --> Kaede

King of Fighters --> Kyo Kusanagi (along with Terry Bogard, Ryo Sakazaki and in the latest KoF games, K' too)

...and so on...

Street Fighter- Ken
Fatal Fury- Joe/Terry/Geese when I feel like cheating
Art of Fighting- Robert
Tekken- Hwoarang (sp?)/Brian Fury
Samurai Shodown- Haohomaro/Genjuro
KOF- Fatal Fury Team

and so on

I usually try to use characters that are balanced fighters. In sf2 i use to use guile until capcom made him into a weakling.

Marvel vs Capcom - Strider
Marvel vs Capcom 2 - Cable,Iceman,Magneto
Guilty Gear - Chip
Tekken - Jin
Street Fighter - Ken/Ryu/Akuma

so basicly i kinda go for speedy characters that can do good combos and have nice specials

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Ryu & Megaman or Ryu & Spiderman
Marvel Super Heroes: Spiderman
Street Fighter 2: Ken

I will choose whoever character but I can't stand those slow characters.

I love choosing the dumb and weird characters... especially characters with really silly moves - it's so much more fun and embarassing to the losers when you win... like Faust in Guilty Gear, Tam-Tam in Samurai Showdown, Dan in SF Alpha (any character with a super taunt is a dumbass)

I'm very like this myself...

Yet, after playing the game for a while and learning most fighters I tend to use the faster characters:

Street Fighter -> Chun Lee
Last Blade 2 -> Lee
Garou -> Hikaru
Marvel -> Spider-man

I consider myself an old-school fighting gamer. The fighting games I enjoy mostly are Street Fighter Alpha 3, Samurai Shodown 4, Garou: MOTW, Vampire Savior, and if I'm in the mood, Marvel vs Capcom. I don't like games that are too flashy or involve a lot of chain-combos (VS is the exception).

Character-wise I'm mostly a shotokan player

SFA3: Ryu, Ken, Akuma
SS4: Haoumaru, Genjuro, Shizumaru
Garou: Terry, Rock
Vampire Savior: Morrigan, Lillith
Marvel vs Capcom: Spiderman, Wolverine, Strider

I rather learn many different characters than stick to a few.. So I play with all characters in Fighting games.. That way you learn every characters weak and strong points.. But there are a few characters that I am the best at..

Fei Long(speed)
Zangief(strength)
Gen(speed+combo+strength)
Guy(speed+combo+strength)
Vega(speed)
Strider(speed+combos)
Captain commando(strength+combos)
Jin(speed+strength)

that's the cool part in last blade 2, if u pick 1 of the 2 REALLY slow characters...... if u just hit once..... u'll see the damage if the opponent is in ex.... hehe....... 4 hits and it's game over for the other..... given the fact that 1 hit'll most probably will remove 1 lifebar(okay, a combo of 3 hits)
