Unhappy Slow running ISO on ePSXe.

Hey.
When I try to run a PSX iso image with ePSXe, I get a frame rate on ~2ftps....I haven't tried to burn a ISO, and then try with the CD, since I guess that it's not that the problem.
I've tried some other GFX plugins, and tried the "FAST" option on all the GFX plugins. I've tried to disable the sound..And still my good old 2fps...
My specs:
1GHz Athlon.
512MB RAM
ASUS Geforce 32MB DDR RAM
all running on my XP...
I've tried looking around in this forum, but can't find a solution to my problem..Anybody got some good ideas????
Thx..
