It's quite good. The PAL UK version works fine for me... so far.

Old school style game, nothing fancy.
Lots of minigames.

Greetings,

Although many others likely do not share my preferences, I am currently nearing the end of BoF4 and I would have to say that for me, it is one of the best PS RPGs in existance. I love the fact that it is old school...if you enjoy old style RPGs, then you will probably like this one. One aspect of the game I adore is the massive minigames, which give one a chance to create thier own lull in the action. The fishing game in particular is almost a game in itself, and if you do play I recommend fishing very heavily from the start of the game to the end of it. It does make a difference, as the minigames directly affect the rest of the game.

Of course, your best bet is to rent the game and try it out, and then if you like it pick yourself up a copy. I can personally attest to the fact that with ePSXe 1.51, every thing works perfectly, including all the sound bites (which were broken in versions previous to the latest one). I personally think it is a great game, and if you have a decent numbr of hours to spare well worth your time. At least give it a shot if you are a big RPG fan.

Sincerely,
TastEPlasma

BoF4 is a very good RPG. And there're not many problems with Vgs.

The MDECs were in Jap for me too. I just live with it, myself.
I use the 1001 BIOS most of the time.

Greetings,

Actually, yes, the MDECs were in japanese for me as well. I personally find that it adds a bit of atmosphere, as I would have absolutely abhorred english dubbing. I am very very biased that way, and for that reason I have yet to play FFX. I should probably loosen up a little, its just that 9 times out fo ten english dubbing totally sucks, sometimes even over american made stuff! (FF:TSW, cough cough). I wouldnt have minded subtitles, but since I am a beginning student of japanese, its fun to slowly begin to understand what they are saying. Anyways, I am digressing.

Yes, Capcom left the MDEC in japanese, as well as most of the little sound bytes located throughout the game.

I also use BIOS 1001, is there ever a time (besides PAL games) that one would use a different BIOS?

Sincerely,
TastEPlasma

Aparently the dubbing in FFX is surprisingly good, but I won't be able to tell you till I get back to uni.
