yet more issues with xenogears
this would be such a great game...if only i could PLAY IT! for some reason (my friend dont get this issue, with very similar system, yet i do) the game ALWAYS freezes and then crashes in that black-whatever forest, when you get into your gear to fight the t-rex type thing. the error mesage i get is "Opcode 2c UNK (PC 0d347f60) (399622,93)" although i think in one of my retries i got a opcode 30 unk rather than a 2c. tried running the game from iso (my prefered way) and the cd. tried changing plugins, and/or plugin settings. system and plugins are as follows. Duron 600 GF2 GTS 32mb 256 mb ram SB live sound: eternal 1.2 SPU Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.60 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce2 GTS/PCI/3DNOW! Resolution/Color: - 800x600 Window mode (note: have tried fullscreen, windowed works best, same errors on both) - Keep psx aspect ratio: on Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 6 - Garbage collection: on - VRam size: 32 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: on Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: on - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: off - Game fixes: on [00000002] i have tried just about everything i can think of, and im sure its just something simple, since on the same cd (i mean really the same cd) and the same system (cept his is tbird 800 and gf1 32mb) he can play it with no issues at all. |

that is odd I passed that part long ago and no crash and I own the real CD's of the NTSC US game. Please make sure you are using epsxe 1.5.1 and if you are using the pec cheater plugin, disable all cheats...it sometimes causes opcode errors. if worse comes to worse use an earlier version of pete's gpu or use his software plugin. hope this helps

i was using the pec cheater plugin, and i thought it might be responsible, so i tried playing the game from the start without it, and same effect. changing the gpu dont help unfortunately :-(
