Okay. Let me get a few things out of the way to be as clear as possible about my issue. I know MANY people have trouble running Monster Rancher 2 on ePSXe. I'm running 1.7.0. Instead of trolling you guys with every single issue, I did my research. I downloaded my plugins, set my frame rates, blah blah blah blah. I also know MANY people have trouble getting the Shrine disc-swap system to work. This isn't really a problem for me. Now that I have mooby's CD plugin (spl?) and Virtual Clone Drive, I can run disc IMG and BIN and CCD with no problem. Works fine. My problem: To get a VERY specific monster in the game, I need use the game "Tail of the Sun" in the shrine. It SHOULD give me the monster I've been after. So I have the game archive, but there are about 11 .bin files and a .cue file! When I switch discs (and I MUST use Change CD as Change ISO won't work with this feature) I can only load one .bin file at a time. these extra .bin files are music tracks in the game and such. When I load a game that has several .bin files, I load the first one, and the game runs just fine, but several sound options are missing such as background music. Games that have only ONE .bin and ONE .cue run just flawlessly. My question: Is there a way to merge all these .bin files into one .bin file? Not only am I sick of missing sound in games, but all I want is a Worm in Monster Rancher 2, and I have made an account just to ask for help as I am pretty much SOL unless I can find another source for such an old and rarely played game.

Mount a .cue file with Daemon tools. If you open .cue with notepad you will see that it contains a list of all the .bin files you have in a directory.

EDIT: Figured out how to mount the images with Daemon tools! I also discovered that when Daemon tools couldn't mount the disc and gave me the "Image Not Accessible", I fixed the problem by opening the .cue sheet in notepad and making sure the titles of the .bin files and in the .cue files matched. I removed the "(USA)" after the titles and saved the .cue sheet. Then it mounted without problem. BUT, in game it still said "This Monster can only be reproduced by an authorized trainer"! Not knowing wtf was wrong, I tried a save I got from gamefaqs that had finished the game, and it could produce worms from the disk! I'm guessing that the unlock method for Worms/Gali is bugged sometimes. You HAVE to attend the elimination cup on the 4th of July when Pabs tells you to go as a representative! Like a slacker, I didn't attend the tourney to train more, figuring I could just do it next year. The tournament and cup show up just fine, but if you don't go when Pabs instructs you to, you won't be able to unlock Worms/Galis from CDs. Thanks much for your help! I hope this issue helps others, as I know this glitch is pretty common among other people replaying this game! Last edited by fallenangemon0; August 18th, 2012 at 06:35.. Reason: Issue resolved. |
