Problem with Video Plugins
Hi everybody! I suck at this kind of things and I really need help. My English ain't that great either so my apologies. So, last week I downloaded the ePSXe 1.7 Emulator and some great classics from my childhood such as Ape Escape and Spyro 2. They all worked just fine, only problem I first had that I had to download a Bio and it was done quickly. Then today I was checking out my gamepad settings and I think I accidentally clicked on the Video settings thing and the window popped up. So, I just clicked Cancel and tried to open up a game and BANG, the "ePSXe is NOT completely configured go to Config->Video to completely configure it." First I was like wtf, tried some other games many times, but then I googled me some video plugins. I tried many of them and none of them seems to work correctly, not even the Pete's OpenGL's latest version, there are still some weird rainbow coloured stripes and texture issues here and there. I mean everywhere. It's unplayable. I have deleted all of the Video Plugins by now and want to start this whole mess from the beginning. I don't want to delete and reinstall the emulator because I am afraid to lose all the game saves. My GF would be pissed if I erased her saves from Spyro 2! What should I do now? I tried to search for answers on these forums and Google but with no luck. There must be an answer to this problem somewhere. Thanks in advance! EDIT: So in short, I think I was playing without a video plugin for the whole time. I've read that there is an build-in software GPU plugin, but I have no idea how can I take it back to use when the F-buttons aren't working as they should. Well, I'm not sure what to put in here, so.. I have HP Pavilion G6 Laptop, Windows 7. - AMD Phenom II N660 Dual-Core Processor - 4096 RAM It's pretty hard to give anymore detailed information, I have to translate everything... But I think the PC is powerful enough to run PS1 games. |

Or could it just be that I haven't configured the video plugin settings correct? First they all were on standard, but then I clicked "fine" but it didn't fix the issues.

I assume you were happy with the first plugin, right? If yes, then go to plugins directory and make a copy of the gpu.dat file. Name the file as you wish but with .dll extension. After that select P.E.Op.S soft driver as the video plugin and save the settings. It should work now as it did before.

Yes, I was. Ok, now I got the P.E.Op.s Soft Driver, thanks for that. But I'm still a bit confused about the gpu.dat file. I can't find it. All I see in the plugins directory is remove.me and those Pete's files. One of them is called gpuPeteOpenGL2.dll but you don't mean that one, right? |
