video and audio problems with radiata stories pcsx2

I just got Radiata Stories and it runs slow. i got the video speed up but when it gets to the first bit of spoken dialog everything slows down to a crawl. the voice is really slow and choppy, it sounds creepy. i am not very computer literate, and know little of pcxs2. PLZ help
