Of all things the Pastor's daughter playing Pokemon on her dad's PC in his office just before we started our confirmation lessons. So I guess that qualifies as a friend showing me.

"Other ways". In 1996 they broke into my house and stole my Sega Genesis / Sega CD, leaving me unable to play Lunar The Silver Star ever again. In 1999 Working Designs published the PSX remake in the west but since I couldn't be bothered to buy a new console I instead opting for buying Bleem!. Funny, because PSX emulation was functional / perfected much sooner than Sega CD, I couldn't play on a Sega CD emulator until 2k3~.

I've got internet in 2004 and i really like to play Pokemón Ruby or Sapphire, and looking in english forums i came across the Boycott Advance emulator (i think that's the name) and got a Dexter's Laboratory ROM from a friend and was so awesome! Then i get involved in emulation forums and news, etc since that year

Must have been back in 1997, my brother had one of his friends come over with a burned CD that had numerous ROMs and emulators on it. Nesticle, Genecyst and Snes97 were the emulators I tried and the second I loaded them, I was ecstatic. The first ROM I ever played must have been either Final Fantasy 6 or Sonic the Hedgehog. The fact that I could play those games on my PC was amazing!

Others. My dad downloaded this '52 roms and 3 emulators' package off Kazaa back in about 2001 or so. It had only GBA and GB games on it and from there I ventured into others. I was ecstatic when I heard of No$GBA.

In 1997-1998 or something a friend showed me some games in Nesticle and Zsnes and i got crazy and got interested in emulation right away. Unfortunately i was a mac user... obviously macs were behind in emulators. Fortunately there were good emulators by that time for pc made by "Marat Fayzullin" and ported to the mac by "John Stiles" like iNES and Virtual GameBoy. John Stiles also ported Snes9x to the mac (the Freeze/Defrost GUI was really good, can't believe there are no emulators with that same GUI, the Freeze/Defrost GUI from Zsnes is crap compared to Snes9x for mac) Good days those were.

My brother showed me road fighter (msx) running on pc. Later a friend showed me vgb (gameboy) for dos. Following that, when I first got a semi-permanent internet connection I started hunting for emulators on the net |

Back in the late 1990s, I was introduced to the term "emulator" and witnessing older console games (Nintendo and Super Nintendo) running on a PC. I had no proper, sole, or primary PC and/or net access then, so it wasn't until 2004 that I got into it. I can't remember exactly how or why, but I came across emuforums and ePSXe wanting to emulate my Final Fantasy IX discs I had. So, in a sense, it was the net, and in another, it was a friend since I'd not have known without that, so its hard to vote for either one.

Back in the 90's my buddy was a really savvy and heavy internet user and through his travels he discovered emulators. We hung out a lot and so he showed me the websites back in the day and we downloaded a few SNES games and emulators to try them out. It was a bit buggy at the time but was a real kick to see them working on the PC as opposed to the SNES which was sitting adjacent to us.

Just randomly searched if it's possible to play PS1 games on PC. First link on google was apparently the ePSXe website. Dundundunn |
