With MTVU, Mac Mini can actually handle PCSX2 as well. I think you'd be surprise, but that little box is very potent after the 2011 upgrade.

The server model with the 2.0GHz quad-core i7 does surprisingly well, even. About the only game I haven't gotten full speed (or faster) is Gran Turismo 4.

Again I don't plan to game a lot and for the occasional game test the 6670 can try at least.
Well, it's actually $79.99 HD 6670 vs $109.99 HD 7750. Or $30.

But the HD 7750 is definitely 1.5x faster than the HD 6670 no matter how you slice it. It's just for future-proofing purposes. Games are starting to be more GPU-intensive now after the move to DX11. Stuffs like Need For Speed The Run or Battlefield 3 running on the Frostbite Engine would eat the HD 7750 for breakfast, and you'll be able to just about break even at 30fps at 1280 x 720.

If you suddenly decide to try something out, I don't think the HD 6670 will hold up too well. Why not spend the extra $30 (38% price increase) to get that extra 50% push needed?

Who are "we"?

Just kidding. Yeah. I also wanna see pics. I almost pulled the trigger on this similar build when I was considering it. And then I went with the Mac Mini instead simply because I was a lazy ass and I didn't want to go through the trouble of having to assemble it.

Yeah. Gotta support crumbling PC sales, right?

Just kidding. Though the price went a bit closer to that of the enemy than I expected. The case, especially, could have been cut down if that PSU wasn't an issue.

I hope in the end, it looks as aesthetically pleasing as the enemy's.

Seriously, simple minimalistic PC cases have been so hard to find for a while now. Would it kill them to just keep it simple? That Lian-li isn't bad, but I think we could have done better for dear Silenus.

And by aesthetically pleasing, I don't mean with a half-bitten fruit logo on top, but something like this:

Or this... (it's an enemy's computer inside)

And yeah, I'm a steampunk sucker.

The enemy's minimalistic style is not that bad but just seeing the enemy logo makes me hungry even if his setup doesn't look as sexy as the enemy's one it still offer some nice options and posibilities the enemy's product can't. At least not out of the box but with external devices.

The logo reminds me always of the fruit eva ate in garden eden.... if she never touched that damn fruit we would've a better life now hahahahahaha!!!

Actually that case is the thing I like most of my build.
I absolutely love it.

Damn Newegg not letting people outside USA buy from them, not even from their ebay store.
Had to get the case for 10 bucks more because of the shipping.

Anyways can't wait.
I know it'll be awesome.

And yeah I know some of you will hate me for this but I plan to test Lion on this hackintosh.

No. At the very least not until a year or so down the line. But I highly doubt it either way.

That's why I would have gone with a cheaper processor than the Core i3 (e.g. Celeron G530, Pentium G620/G630) for a build that doesn't need much processing power. Your motherboard will probably support Ivy Bridge processors and the Celerons are inexpensive enough they can be treated as placeholders.

I saw the reviews, not really mind blowing.

Still happy with my parts.

Best upgrade was on the gpu but nothing that my 6670 can't handle.

It's really a bridge for the good things to come from Haswell.

Now the refreshed mac mini will really be a nice htpc with that gpu.

Just a note about the current SandForce drives (the 6 Gbps SATA/SF-2000 series ones), make sure the drive has the latest firmware on it. BSODs on an HTPC isn't pleasant .

Don't go for the latest leaked ATI drivers. They suck.

Noted.

Thinking of getting a Logitech Dinovo mini for my htpc.

But damn those things are expensive.

Wonder if they are worth it.

I've gone through a lot of keyboards for my HTPC. Best one I've used is this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005DKZTMG

While a small keyboard might seem nice, a remote control is still a lot easier to use and during the few times that we need to use a keyboard/mouse (usually for HTPC maintenance), the K400 is just a lot easier to use.
