Getting Alakazam in Emerald

Hi there. Yes, I read the many threads about this subject. Nothing seemed to help.

So, I have a Emerald Savegame. It's a .sav file and 137KB big (SAV/SNA File Format == Raw). I hava a Kadabra.
What I want is an Alakazam.

I don't care how.
At first I tried a SAV-Editor, but then I realized it doesn't work for GBA games.
Then I tried to link No$GBA. I even created a second savegame (.sv2). I can play both games side by side. But when I want to enter the trade colosseum, after saving, both players wait for the other. Nothing happens. In my second game, I caught an extra pokemon for trading. That should be enough, right? Well, didn't work.
After that, I tried VBA Link. Neither renaming (.sav -> .sa1) nor using a No$GBAtoVBA-Converter worked. I can't start the savegame with VBALink.

What exactly am I doing wrong, that none of this works? I read in several posts that it in fact does work for some people. So why not for me?

Please, please help!

Many thanks in advance.

Try PokeStock, it's a sav editor for gba games. The one I have is PokeStockver6_4 English Version. A quick google search and you should find it. It takes some time getting used to, but it works. Left-click on the pokémon name and click on edit to change a pokémon.

Thanks! After searching a bit, I found it. It looks messed up though.

I don't have an "edit" button? Where is it?

Edit: Sorry! It's RIGHT-click. I always manage to mess up with directions.

When I clicked on a pokemon, nothing happened.
But that's okay, because I found another Save-editor! And it worked, I now have an Alakazam!
I used "Enciclopedia Pokemon - English".
Thanks anyways!
