Controller has slow response time

So, I am not exactly an *expert* per se, nor am I noob when it comes to ePSXe. I had this running perfectly, everything was amazing and there were no problems what so ever. But my hard drive crashed hard (blue screen and everything). Anyways, when I got my computer back up and running, I re-installed EVERYTHING, now my ePSXe runs okay, and, like before, I use my PS3 controller with a usb cord to play the games, only when I play Fox Sports Golf '99 (don't even like golf, this game is just fun to me for some darn reason) it takes about 5 minutes to get from one selection to the next, and when I get in game, I can't even see how hard I'm hitting the ball... Any suggestions?
