A few help questions that need answering
Hello Whenever I record in an AVI movie when I'm emulating on my VBA (1.80 playing pokemon fire red) it gets VERY slow when I fast forward pressing the space button. It gets very choppy. Besides that when I film it's great. Any fix for this? It just slows up and screws when i fast forward while I'm filming. Like it will look like normal fast forwarding when I'm playing the emulator but when I view the file once I'm done recording it gets choppy. Also, I've noticed emulators run a little slower then regular gameboy, what's the best way to speed it up? |

Recording requires a hell of a lot more resources than simply emulating. If you're having trouble with slowness then it simply means you don't have enough power to achieve what you want.

My computer is the following: Quad Core 3.0ghz processor 4 gigs of ram ATI Radeon 4200 (integrated) is that not good enough to play and record properly? (I can record perfectly fine, but whenever I fast forward in the game, it works while I'm emulating but as I look back at the recorded video it's very choppy) |

You could always try using a better recording tool like Fraps. Also, if you are using a lossless codec, especially uncompressed RGB or YUV, your HDD may not be able to keep up with the enormous amounts of data, causing stuttering and slowdowns.

It could also be that your HDD can't handle all the data being recorded causing the slowdown and stutter as masta said.
