Becoming an airline pilot

Can a lame legged man(left leg lame) become a pilot in the airlines if everything else is okay?

I'd say no if significant enough to constitute a physical impairment, since movement difficulties or chronic pain sensation can make the difference between life and death.

It depends on the plane you are going to be piloting. My sister is a pilot, ill ask her, but I am pretty sure military planes are out, as you must be in top shape, regardless of plane design. Not to sure about Commercial planes...but you use your feet to control the rudder on some planes.

Possibly not, depends on the medical and license type.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilot_c..._United_States

If the medical can be passed for the duties needed then he has a higher chance of being employed as a pilot. Many airlines have quotas to fill, political correctness et al.

Just to remind you that long time of sitting may cause it to get worse or develop long-term illness.

Depends on severity, I suppose. It shouldnt bother him much to be honest, as if he has the piloting knowledge, he could serve as instructor instead (wether for airliners or private training grounds).

In order for that he'd have to know how to fly first and have a lot experience under his belt so that's not really an option either.
