Well, I'm going to install this on my netbook and see how that thing fares. It definitely satisfies those minimum specs.

^Having a high speed capped internet connection would be kind of sadistic though... mine's unlimited.

Started the download of the x64 version.
2:30 hours to finish.

They have great servers.

I will try it on a Virtual machine for now.

I think testing it in a normal machine isn't that fun as you will be limited to the standard Win7-like UI that looks the same except for some minor changes. i guess the touch UI is what makes it interesting and i don't know if it works with the mouse hence why am not going to install this on my PC but on my WeTab instead.

Am not sure of it but touch UI's use special touch events that are quite different than normal forms events and mouse events. if the developer choose to simulate certain commands and gestures using the mouse is possible but as of now i haven't seen the metro UI being used with the mouse hence why am not sure if its going to be usable with the mouse. for instance i have to simulate those commands and gestures in my private version of @ES as the original one works with touch events and mouse clicks have no effect in it but only touch ones.

The thing is when you create a touch gesture command such as slide with the finger you don't use mouse coords or form events for that but you use the touch events over, down, move for example. taking in mind its a early beta such a simulation may not be present but i may be wrong.

Yes you can test it with a mouse and keyboard.

They made sure of that.

But the sweet spot is with a touchscreen.

Ah, that is awesome! i was unsure since i know about touch-enabled applications and since i haven't seen a video of Win8 being used with the mouse and keyboard.
