INUYASHA-A Feudal Fairy Tale

I am using the original "INUYASHA-A Feudal Fairy Tale" game CDROM for the Sony Play Station using epsxe170.
The game starts with no problems, menus are accessible, the only problem is the characters can not use their weapons, I hit the action button (Z key on my keyboard) and nothing happens.

Has anyone played this PS game using ePSXe and resolved this issue?

I have all of the plug-ins installed and the emulator works fine with my other PS games, I am just having action issues with just this game.

I have tried to run it on several different computers using ePSXe 1.7.0 and have run into the same issues.

The game works fine on the Sony Play Station, so this is not a disk issue.

Any suggestions would be most helpful, I wish not to use my Sony PS because the drive laser is beginning to show signs of age.

Try PCSX-Reloaded with the Inuyasha hack.

Thanks for the reply Kross, I located PCSXR 1.9.92, I suppose I should switch to that forum section for my next question which obviously would not be related to ePSXe.
