Let's go over this again to make sure:
1- Copy pcsx2-usb to normal pcsx2 folder
2- Copy ps2_usb plugin to pcsx2 plugin folder
(untested- I think you can use the usb2 plugin with the latest pcsx2 svn builds)

3- Configure usb nuvee plugin
4- Use acquire to grab mouse
5- Set profile to 'Virtua Cop - Elite Edition (E)' (this makes your aim more precise at higher screen resolutions)
6- Run game

Killervin tried this game using lightguns. Maybe he can help also?
Thx shalma, but where to set profil virtua cop i don't see any option command line?

I've a mamecab too with guncon2 and wingun, will try on it also (in 640*480 15 khz of course) and try guncon2pc when i get my unofficial ps2 gun !

Start pcsx2
Config -> plugin / BIOS selecter
USB = nuvee ps2 usb 0.2.0
configure
port1 = guncon 2
port1 config

You'll see 'alignment'. Underneath that is the 'game profile'
- default = CUSTOM
- Set to "Virtua Cop - Elite Edition (E,J) (480p)"

Since you're using a mouse, turn on 'Mouse calibration hack'.
And turn on this 'Keyboard as D-Pad'.
(menus use the Guncon 2 d-pad buttons - wasd keyboard remapped)

Here's the back cover of Virtua Cop - Elite Edition
http://pics.mobygames.com/images/cov...4294105-00.jpg

Says 'Supports NAMCO's G-Con 2 light gun' and 'Analog control compatible'. Sorry - no mouse mentioned.

edit:
Oh! USB Mouse never needs alignment - only the G-Con45 or Guncon2 need game profiles (for aiming).

Silent Scope 1/3 play fine with USB Mouse (no alignment needed).

Yes, in the emulation settings, GS window tab untick the "double click switch window to fullscreen". And you have to use the nuvee usb plugin, too.

Thx for the tips killervin

But sadly, if virtua cop not working with mouse, seems my wingun drivers is in fault.

I try this today on my mame CAB, using namco and wingun drivers (because rollingX issue)

if i tru guncon mode, pcsx2 crash, mouse option is OK, but this game doesn't allow it..

Will ripp my time crisis for testing with mouse option.

But, wingun seems te bo not compatible with Nuvee.

Will try later with guncon2pc drivers when my mission gun arrived !!

Sorry to hear it doesn't work.
(won't be able to fix this)

I only know that my PCSX2 tester (who isn't around anymore) tested all the lightgun games using a Guncon 2 (via dual mouse devices). All games worked for him using pcsx2-4800-usb program.

Dino Crisis, Resident Evil - Dead Aim and Virtua Cop - EE needed the 'D-pad' hack. So he played with a mouse + keyboard (WASD = directional + QE = start / select).

Only Resident Evil Survivor 2 needed a G-Con 45 (nuvee ps2 pad) via mouse acquire.

if i choose guncon, pcsx2 crash (on winxp or win7 x64) ?

The crash I don't know about at all (clueless). No crashes on XP SP3 (tester).

You can emulate a Guncon 2 via PC mouse or PC lightgun. Select Guncon 2. Hit acquire. Click mouse or PC lightgun. Same with Guncon 1 (psx) or G-Con45 (PS2).

But for Guncon 2 (mouse mode), you -must- click the 'mouse calibration hack' or it won't work. And you -should- select the game profile because this can affect whether the gun works (mouse or lightgun).

Mentioned in the readme is this: if you use Lilypad as your pad plugin, turn off the mouse. It interferes with nuvee (captures the mouse data and doesn't let nuvee see it).

Don't think I can help much more - you should ask the PCSX2 guys to do a proper Guncon 2 plugin. Then wait.

I plan on leaving ps1-ps2-nes emulation soon.

Sorry - meant 4600-usb (memory is getting poor).

Guncon 2 - config. Right above the OK button is game profile + 'Mouse calibration hack' checkbox. Use keyboard as D-PAD is above the 'aiming scale x/y' boxes.
(Virtua Cop needs START button on keyboard which is Q or E)

OK

finely virtua cop works with mouse AND lightgun (guncon2PC drivers only or mouse).

But having Np106 Namco, rolX issue.. ^^ just buying konig mission gun, must be fine after.

I love wingun, but it's seems only work with namco in MAME trigger acte like TRUE GUN so plugin don't detect it :c

but i love this plugin !!! very good work ! accurate and fast !

If Windows can't see it as a HID device, it won't work with nuvee. Which is why the PCSX2 devs probably would want to create their own Guncon 2 plugin.

That game uses a really cruel trick that mostly breaks Guncon 2 (mouse) - the hazy fog (virtually) requires a lightgun that can detect light -> dark -> light transitions. Unless nuvee can talk to GSdx and grab the pixel colors every VBlank (unlikely).

If you rapid fire the mouse button, you can get a lot of shots in. But no automatic fire using mouse (PC lightgun is said to work though).

That the obscure point, in fact, it's a driver, windows work great with it, but some apps don't

Mame recognize trigger as GUNlight no mouse, house of the dead 3 PC works great with it

like flash windows?

One last question:

Profil calibration must be set each time i want to play with a specific game?

good work

nuvee needs HID mouse (ex. EMS TopGun / Actlabs). So GUNlight probably doesn't work correctly.

Those too.

Yes. The Guncon 2 emulation isn't -accurate- enough to eliminate the profiles. If it was accurate, your shots would still be off at screen resolutions above 640x480 (see pSX emulator and Guncon 1 emulation).

So Guncon 1 (ps1) uses profiles to boost the lightgun accuracy.

You'd need to ask the PCSX2 devs to include cmdline support into their emulator (send cmdline to plugins). If the plugin has a way to read the __entire__ cmdline, then I might stick around to add that in for you.

ex.
pcsx2 (load this game) -usb_device_port2 guncon2 -usb_load_guncon2_profile dino_stalker

(see inis\nuvee_ps2_usb_guncon_profiles.ini for the 'cmdline' profile names)
(I can parse the cmdline "as-is" and get the bits I want)

edit:
Oops. Meant -usb_device_port1 guncon2

i tested wingun about 2 years ago, and as i readed, it worked in a different way than guncon2pc (smog) and TopGun driver (beta2, for XP), which I use now and works fine.
wingun worked in a diferent way. it used an older methode to have two players working, ,which didnt allow you to play games like terminator2 (only p1 traks) and i think it interiere with rawinput in some way.
mame changed the two player lightgun methode in mame 0.129 or so, i'm not sure. But before worked well with wingun, and from them works with the other. it's better because allow the two players traking, for games that you shot in semiautomatic.

searching in the net i found that:
http://frenzy.gl.tter.org/
wich make pc quake2 and half life compatible with lightguns, (but only actlabs) i tested with ems topguns and didnt works, but seems you have to have the actlabs driver installed.

I found another genesis emu with lightgun support:
regen

Regen - didn't try that for a long time. Checked the logs - says it has lightguns for SMS + Megadrive. But no Sega CD emulation - so no ALG series or Snatcher. xx(

I'll think of something. Create a new thread elsewhere around here when / if it gets started.

edit:
Regen is closed source also. Ugh - what to do.
Quote:
Regen is not open source, and to the best of my knowledge AamirM has no plans to make it so (except possibly if he decides to stop development at some point in the distant future).
