Official announcement of SSF4 for PC imminent!

Source - Ono and Svensson talk PC SSF4, ESRB posts rating

Quote:
It sounds like a PC version of Super Street Fighter 4 is in the cards. Capcom's Yoshinori Ono left a few messages on Twitter implying there could be a release for it.

Quote:
Ono-san, news of PC SSFIV on 12th of April? — ArtSaSF

Ono: May be exist or may be not. I can't say now. Please wait [until the] 12th ;D

When will we have SSFIV for PC? — IceBreakker

Ono: I cant twit about it topic... Please wait until 12th [of] April. 8 a.m. PST.
Also, Christian Svensson got in on the fun and left this post on the Unity Boards.

Quote:
Why has it taken so long to announce SSF4 on the PC? — pkt

Svensson: We'll talk in a couple days.
Finally, the ESRB has put up a listing for a PC Windows version of Super Street Fighter 4, along side the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.

The evidence seems very strong that a PC release of Super Street Fighter 4 is planned for the future, but fans will likely have to wait until Tuesday morning for an official annoucement.

8am PST 12th April can't come fast enough for me.

Actually the 12th is my b'day so its looking like I am about to get the dreamiest b'day present I could ever imagine. (For a SF fan anyway)

*drools all over my keyboard in anticipation*

Oh well I don't need the keyboard to play it anyway as I have 2 PS2 controllers connected to my PC anyway

Source - Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition confirmed for PC, PS3, 360

Quote:
Expanded edition of fighting game will feature Street Fighter III's Yun and Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni along with expanded replay channel, all-new balancing.

Less than two weeks after it was first outed by the British Board of Film Classification, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition has been officially confirmed. The expanded edition of Super Street Fighter IV is in development for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and is set for release sometime this summer. The BBFC listing pointed to a June 24 release in the UK, which would indicate a likely June 21 launch in the US. Capcom anticipates it will get a T for Teen rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings board.

Evil Ryu is just one of the new characters in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

The Arcade Edition of Super Street Fighter IV adds four new characters to its roster of 39 fighters. In addition to Street Fighter III veterans Yun and Yang, the game sees a demonic pair joining the roster in the form of Evil Ryu and an even eviler version of Akuma called Oni. Returning fighters include Ryu, Chun-li, Juri, El Fuerte, and Rufus. All characters will be unlocked at the game's start.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will also sport several technical tweaks. Capcom said the game will sport all-new character balancing, "further refining gameplay." It will also feature an updated replay channel that will let players follow up to five individual player replays, making it easier to track down individual players. The My Channel Advanced option will let players send out their replay data to 50 friends. Finally, the Arcade edition will sport an Elite Channel which well let players watch replays from players who boast a rating of 3000PP or more.

This would be terrific news if only Midway would learn from them :P and do the same to MK, still SSF4 would put my Saytek to good use :P.

Glad I held off.

It'd be nice to see Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on PC as well... yeah, just sayin'.

If it is only SSF4 than i would be damn dissapointed

It is "SSF4 AE" era now! If they really make it, i hope they release the latest version not the old version.

Yeah, I submitted the news when I saw the rating on the ESRB site.

Others were responsible for other sources of info.

The going rumor is that PC will get AE content out of the box

Brilliant news if it's true. After missing SF4 this will be a day one purchase for me.

Considering our begging for SSF4 has appeared to have worked its only natural to believe that enough begging would net PC users MvC3 as well.
Just look at this image from Capcoms site

Almost 535,000 views just can't go ignored I guess

The reason the thread got locked was because when Captivate ended a few days ago no info had leaked causing a TONNE of people to go ape****.
The funny bit is in locking it they gave a hint it was coming to PC by saying...

Quote:
I am seriously considering locking this thread until Wednesday.

No joke guys, I appreciate your passion but I don't appreciate the vitriol and hyperbole As someone who has been in your corner, I'm beginning to take offense.
Within 30 minutes of this post it got locked

Why would you only lock it til Wednesday knowing that the hate would just start all over again unless it actually will be announced and the hate would stop?

So they've finally decided to continue to monetize and rip off PC gamers with a game that was released almost eons ago? Great news!

Meanwhile, console gamers are less fortunate, and have to settle for MvC3...

Honestly, though, sarcasm aside, I think this should have been a day-one release ages ago. Now that MvC3 has come out, there is even less reason to get it unless you haven't played the game before... And then the PC continues to lag behind consoles in these genres.

They ripped us off by NOT giving us the game.

Considering its likely to be Arcade Edition out of the box we will be the ones NOT getting ripped off.

Its been confirmed the AE is coming to consoles as DLC. Wanna start guessing how much Capcom are gonna dig into the pockets of console owners for the 4 added AE characters? (I am guessing worst case scenario would by $20 seems they charged $5 each for the MvC3 DLC characters)

I am happy to have been forced to wait if it means we get the AE content on day 1

I know the one your talking about, it was proven fake a while ago now.

I have been keeping up with SSF4 info DAILY for the past 2 years now (Hence why I was almost always first to post MvC3 info here seems the same sites cover both)

I actually check all the bigger SF sites multiple times a day for any info

Well, see, look at it this way, if it turns out AE will be DLC for PC as well, it means we are double ripped off either way.

Console gamers have enjoyed SSF4 for a long while now, so long that it wouldn't even constitute as being "ripped off" anymore.

Keep an open door for disappointment as well or the fall will hurt more when the 12th comes and nothing gets announced or they announce SSF4 but not AE, and both PC and consoles may get DLC of AE later on.

Only way I can see how this might not be a ripoff is if they'd let you update your current SF4 to SSF4 for a lower fee, but hey, what are the chances? The thing isn't even announced or confirmed yet.

Capcom confirmed ages ago now that SF4 was not as DLC friendly as it should have been. (Something they promised to fix with SSF4) That was the reason why when they announced SSF4 ages ago (For consoles) that they compensated with a "slightly" lower retail price.

I don't wanna get into the reasons why I am certain its the AE version (Too many links to find as sources over the past year or so) but rest assured that I am certain that my b'day (12th) is gonna be one hell of an awesome day for me with a present from Capcom to cap it off

The arcade boards used to develop SF4 (Taito Type X according to Wikipedia) were based on PC hardware. SSF4 only came to arcades after coin-operators specifically requested it, as they wanted an arcade port of the console version of SSF4. If SSF4: AE uses the same Taito boards, then the PC version of SSF4 will most likely be a port of the arcade version with extra features.
