Tales of Destiny video problems
Hello. ![]() I am having major problems getting Tales of Destiny to work properly on an emulator (preferably epsxe). In epsxe, the game plays perfectly, through the beginning, up until monsters land on the Draconis. After the captain and his crew yell about powering up and imminent attack, the game SHOULD switch over to a scene with some funky background effects that is supposed to be the Draconis' heart pumping... but the music never changes (from "Utopia" to "Storm"), and the screen hangs black indefinitely. It is definitely the weird video effect that is giving me the problem. I looked around to see if anyone had similar experiences, and most resolved other graphical issues by changing plugins and tinkering with framebuffer effects. I have been through EVERY Peops plugin to my knowledge: soft, OGL, OGL2, D3D, DX6D3D, and can't find a combination of effects to work (granted, it is probably statistically improbable to try them all). I tried detailed recommended settings from snesorama and other related posts. My emulator is fine, I just destroyed Star Ocean: Second Story the other day. My ISO for Tales of Destiny is fine, it can't be corrupt because... Next, I tried running it on pSX emulator. My plan was to just make a memory card save once I got past the glitch and resume playing on my emulator of choice. I got through the scene with the Draconis heart no problem--but--when I could finally walk around as Stahn, he would not exit to the next screen without crashing the emulator every single time I reloaded and tried. Then, I tried PSXeven, but it seems to also run on the same plugins as epsxe, and locked up before the heart pumping scene. I am running Windows 7 on a machine with 4gb of RAM. When I asked my computer (hum ), I believe it said my graphics card is an Intel, core i3.Any suggestions would be profoundly appreciated! <3 Edit: Problem fixed--had to switch from Peop's sound to the epsxe SPU core 1.7. Now the game plays, but the sound isn't as good. Hmmm. Last edited by planteater; April 1st, 2011 at 07:56.. |

Try "Eternal SPU Plugin 1.50" and enable the "SPU IRQ - Force interruption flag7" fix in the options menu. Also set the "Audio out method" to "SPUasync" and "Async mode: Smooth".
