Crash Team Racing

Whenever I begin Adventure Mode, I see Aku Aku floating in front of Crash. He's supposed to talk to him, but instead he just keeps floating. What is my problem and how do I fix it? What settings work best for this game?
Arcade and Time Trial mode work fine except for a little lag problem.

Please post your computer specifications / ePSXe plugins and I can advise on which plugin and config settings you can use. As for the floating problem, you may need to tweak the video/sound config.
