Game Music Software
I was wondering if someone knows where I can download as very good music editing software. I'm interested in designing video game music. I've heard that Fruit Loops, Finale, Sibelius, and Garage Band are great, but not sure where to find them. I had tried to download something off of a site, but the file was extremely small, it only took two seconds to download and wanted to open up my media player for some reason. So I didn't know what to do with that. I was recommended here by someone who said you guys are the best so I hope you can help me out gentleman. |

What software you use depends on what you have and your music skills. Most professional DAW (Desktop Audio Workstation) need some sort of hardware, such as a midi controller. Most people start with Fruity Loops as it's easy to use, but it's not free (FL Studio Homepage). I recommend REAPER (REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits) because it's cheap (you can use it without a license too, just wait for the screen to go away). All you need are VSTs (large variety of free and paid plugins) You should try demos of different things and see what suits you most. I personally use Reason (Propellerhead Software - Products - Reason) most of the time.

Soundfonts (especially SNES ones) are fun to use, too.
