ePSXe will read CD but not ISO

Hi guys I'm new to the forums but I've been reading it a few times to get things up and running but I've reached a point where I can't find advice so I had to post.

I used to have a laptop which for whatever reason couldn't read my PS1 games so I just waited until I got a PC. Now I've downloaded the emulator, I can run my games as a CD no problem

Operating System - Windows 7 64-bit
Processor - AMD Athlon II Quad 3.0ghz
Memory - 4gb (2x2gb)
Graphics - GTX 460 SE (Latest Drivers)

So its not really an issue with that (is it?).

I'm really lazy, and I want to be able to just click and not have to get up and switch games, so I downloaded a free disc to iso program. I can run the game from a disc even now, but when I try to run the ISO of the game I get a black screen and no error message it just freezes there and I have to exit. Is this any kind of common error?

Thanks for reading.

David

I just tried re-creating the iso aswell and the same issue happened. I'll try a different iso program also.

Sorry to keep posting I'm hoping there isn't an automated ban for it haha. Quick update... I tried using Daemon Tools Lite and it says it cannot burn a multi-session disc to ISO. Any thoughts at all? I'm baffled. All I want to do is copy my disc to the computer to play it.

Don't use the ISO format when making images. BIN/CUE is usually good enough, unless it's PAL and protected. Then, you better use the CloneCD format (CCD/IMG/SUB).

#EDIT: Just checked and it seems Daemon Lite only supports ISO and MDS/MDF. You better get Alcohol 52% then, it's free and supports more formats.

Yeah its PAL and probably protected then. I've put them as CCD file like you said, I've tried running it (I presumed as "Run ISO" because that's the only place it appears) and its doing the same thing. Just a black screen. I used Alcohol 52% too.

Hey its all good. If I make them as a .bin/cue it works, they must not be protected. Thanks for the help !
