Cannot save game to memory card file please help

okay well my problem is a slight bit different then the PC emulators you guys are used to, im trying to get games to save on my PSX emu on my android phone

its pretty straight forward and works about the same as other emulators

my issue is when im ingame, and i try to save, it will say that the save is complete

but if i close out the emulator and re-load the game later, it says no save file exists

i have the roms right there next to the memory card files, ive even replaced them with new ones from the net and it still dosent work

the games themselves run fine, spyro runs faster on my phone then it does on the actual playstation, but it dosent do me any good if i cannot save
