ePSXe 1.8.0 When?
Will it ever come out, or the developers trashed it for good? Still needs some minor tweaks like: * CD Audio Volume Controlable (from "in game" too). * SPU Core 1.7 needs a buffer setting (it crackles alot on windows 7). * Better internal ISO support (disable Subchannel reading option). * Show PS screen at startup (behave like the real console) [Switchable]. * Better G-Shade Dithering (pSX does this) like the real console [Switchable]. pSX Emulator - VERY ACCURATE g-shade dithering on real ps1 * Default gpuBladesoft 0.34 instead of P.E.Op.S Soft 1.18. Any additions to the list are welcome. Any ePSXe Developers on Board? ![]() Cheers. P.S Hope I did'nt break any rules bringing 1.8.0 subject back on. |

I'm pretty sure it's dead, which really sucks if this rumor is true.

"perfection goes beyond reality of 2 people, google a bit for bsnes or asnes. " That's why we're here. Byuu's forum was packed with people who love SNES & helped him to perfect the code. "maybe if we do some donation, they will worked it up again or even give the source code" Maybe... I think if the dev's lost interest they should give the source code freely. Or at least anounce that on ePSXe home page. Still its hard to belive that its all over. It was a couple of years (of Silence) till they came out with 1.7.0 so... If the dev at least post/ask us here what is missing/unplayable or beta testing etc. Playstation 1 console will soon be hard to find. Last edited by Ilya-v; December 10th, 2010 at 18:23.. |

Maybe when the world stops spinning, but then again, that'd make everything worse for everyone. Your guess is good as everyone else's..

You can try talking to someone here (this a link to the epsxe chat room) - Welcome to the official ePSXe website since I believe their email addresses are pretty much nonexistent.

After enough damn is given to push the since-long promised 1.7.1 that was supposed to be released with necessary fixes a few weeks after 1.7.0 It should be safe to assume likely never or not before 3-4 more years minimum, though. pSX and PCSX-Reloaded would be the safest horses to bet on. Especially PCSX-Reloaded as being opensource, an 'ePSXe' won't be pulled on it, and the code will survive its authors, for the benefit of downstream ports and versions based on it. Regarding the epsxe.com email adresses, I believe they might apparently no longer be working (along with other ngemu-operated email inboxes from long ago). |

Plus PCSX-Reloaded has fixes that pSX doesn't have yet. From what I've heard, all the triad members (_Demo_, Calb, Galtor) have to get together again before they will release a new version. Squall-Leonheart talked to _Demo_ last year about the FF8 analog joysticks. The other two are...? |

Xebra is currently better than pSX just a note. Also, pSX hasn't been updated in three years.

Assuming one can get it to work; I can't even get proper sound output (no interpolation).

I have tested Xebra (first heard of it yesterday). Its Great. Every game works flawlessly like Dr.Hell promissed. The last version 27/11/2010 in Dr.Hell's words, is 100% accurate to PSX. All my games are working full speed, full playability, full graphics (including the Dithering I was talking about) just like on the console. Dr.Hell dug out the functionallity of the real chips inside the console and emulated the real behaviour of everything inside the console. And we can change every bit of it (for Debugers). Thats some hard work. BUT. * No Vibration emulated. * No Sound interpolation. * No propper Video settings. * Very un-intuitive interface. Need to guess what every function does, or try to translate the poorly writen, vague and dull japanese manual. Dr.Hell Please include these to Xebra and I'm done asking. ![]() Homepage: NYO$B%C%H$d$m$&$<(J Click on the picture on the botom to download newest version. |

Strictly, he said "ALMOST" 100%. Moreover, the optimization of the simulation setting is required for some games.

You do know the manual has an English section, right? Hattori, can you list the games that you know of that requires altering the simulation settings? I only know Parasite Eve 2 needs the I cache rate set to 10.

Usually being control and ego, I suppose the same apply for Xebra. Since long went the days when hoarding code brought fame or satisfaction though. To need to reverse-engineer emulators rather than consoles says something about the previously collaborative nature of this RE niche. Time continually wasted to need recreating from zero already existing, perfectly working wheels. |
