Problem finding DeSmuME save file
Like the title says, I'm having a hard time finding where the save is being put. I've tried multiple different folders in the path settings, yet no visible file is created. I tried doing a quicksave, and I was able to continue it, but when I turn off the game then back on the save is lost. This is occurring with Dragon Quest IX. Is there any fix to this? I am using DeSmuME 0.9.6 x86. Edit #2: Apparently I had to reset the emulator in order for the save path to, well... save. Is this normal? Last edited by MCMXCIX; November 3rd, 2010 at 18:38.. After I reset the emulator the save path was active, but it was quite annoying because I played the game for about an hour and a half before I realized that the save the game said was successful was actually not saved at all. A "You must reset the emulator/cartridge before this can be saved" message would be helpful if it is a bug other people experience too.

The right way to fix it is to make the save file system not hold onto a dsv path which can become out of date, but instead to continually request it from the emulator's path configuration system. unfortunately this can't be done at the moment until large chunks are rewritten due to the clunkiness and fragility of the code.
