Kratos was in Soul Calibur for the PSP and no one gave a damn, and that was an american character in a japanese game.

Why do Mortal Kombat devs think they are so special? :O

Because he'd fit in pretty well, maybe minus the time setting.

MK doesn't need new characters but what they really need is a better battle system as it started to suck since MK4(which was not that bad gameplay-wise). the current battle system(even in there latest one) makes you feel like controling a puppet.

The creator commented something about that in the above video. He wants a solid gameplay this time.
Might check it out. It seems this new MK will be 2D like SF4.

Probably because:
1. SC for the PSP was garbage so most people did not play it~.
2. SC has no gore whereas MK is all about it. When you take that into account, Kratos brings a lot of gore-ish possibilities to the table~.

Oh I thought I was the only who completely ignored SC psp.

Though I can't really see the appeal in gore since most of it in MK games is really over done.

We all know that strike.

But yeah I would like to see Kratos on MK, hope they bring a fighting style based on the older Mortal Kombats like Trilogy and 3 with some updated elements.

I hated the tekken fighting style type of gameplay on the post MK Trilogy games.

Let's forget Soul Calibur for the PSP! Other than the PS2 Soul Calibur 3, it was the worst Soul Calibur.

If only they'd have put Soul Calibur 1 and 2 on the PSP, I'd gladly pay $40 for both of them in one game!

The new entry has been re-envisioned - it will be awesomeness.

Lets hope they really change the whole gameplay in there next entry because as i already said the current fighting style sucks orc-balls, i hate it and sadly i bought MK vs DC few days ago and after 5 minutes of gameplay(including intro) i took the Blu-Ray out of my PS3 and wanted to burn the stupid game because the dissapointment was quite high.

seriously i have no idea what kind of stuff they smoked at the time they developed that crap so lets hope the new entry is awesome as you already mentioned .

damn.... where are the good old MK3 and < days?

and now we get this...

..... the game have no MK feeling anymore ......

I thought Mortal Kombat was all about being a gore filled fighting game?

That's part of it, yes. But unfortunately, the battle system became one that was too mechanical and timed. The devs have acknowledged that issue, and said it themselves that it was gone with the new version. I forget the term they used.

I'd advise against preordering it, at least wait until it can be rented, as I'd hate to blow $59.99 on it if it isn't very good.

Of course I barely play the first 3 and I have them on the PS2, PSP, and Wii via Gamecube.
