PSX game LAN sharing

I have some 40-50 PSX game discs that would take ages to make images of. Besides, it's not really practical to make them because of disc space they would use.

I have a PC that has everything needed to play PSX games. It has a wireless LAN card I use to share network for my netbook. The netbook can fully emulate PSX games, but it doesn't have any optical disc drive.

So I figured out I could put a PSX CD in the CD drive of my main PC and share it through the network so that my friends can play PSX game using the netbook. The netbook can freely access it, but the emulators (like pxsfin) don't consider it a PSX game. "subst" function to create a virtual drive doesn't make ePSXe recognise the newly create drive as an optical drive.

So is there any way to resolve this or am I wasting time?
