how to save .tmp buffered video files...

okay i have seen many people asking for how to save a .tmp
video file which they have buffered from net... now it might not be a problem
to those who have a fast internet connections but for people with low
bandwidth its really painful to wait for the buffering to complete for a movie
or an anime..

there are many methods to save these files which are present in
C:\Documents and Settings\name of pc\Local Settings\Temp
but the easiest way is here folks... & i mean the simplest of the simplest....

& one more thing this even works for half buffered vids or the vids which are buffered from middle.

step1: buffer your video.(any site)
step2:when buffered just restart your pc directly..not from your keyboard or the windows options..just from your cpu restart button or the main switch.
& volla it is done. nothing more. the video will be saved in C:\Documents and Settings\name of pc\Local Settings\Temp... you will need latest version of vlc player to play... ENJOY!

due to step 2 i would suggst avoiding this, as there is a small chance of a giant **** up breaking your com.

its fine to do once or twice, but for every video you want its just unfeasable.

just get firefox and look at the add ons, theres some that actually download streaming videos into a more appropriate format than tmp in a much safer manner.

hypothetically instead of step 2 couldnt you just end the proccess of your browser in task manager instead of having force shut down. (not tryed but assuming similar effects.) (not not ending task, ending process.)

For Firefox add-on your can use Video DownloadHelper
For anything else including firefox, you can use VideoCacheView to copy the file from the cache even if it's still buffering.

You can also copy the file while it's still buffering or it's already finished but it's locked from coping/moving with Unlocker but I prefer VideoCacheView

If you need it that badly, just use VideoCacheViewer...this is even more simplest because you don't have to go to the temp folder, look for the file and after that rename the extension.

Oh and btw I can open that file with any player, not just the newest version of VLC

That depends on how the video is encoded(audio and video codec). If the player don't have the needed codecs to decode the file, the of course it will say that or something similar

If you ask me,VLC is not the best choose.I use it month or two but it's just stays on my PC now,I don't use it at all.

Well I never buffer more than 2 videos even if though I have fast internet.
Just switch your browser to offline mode and copy all of the videos using VideoCacheView.
