that cpu is too slow for nulldc It is socket AM2 (AM2+ is backwards compatible with AM2 motherboards) so you can just upgrade and nulldc will run much better also what video card are you using? Last edited by Yeloazndevil; July 18th, 2010 at 01:08.. |

your pc uses socket AM2 you just need to buy a AMD cpu that uses socket AM2 or AM2+. assuming u know how to upgrade a cpu. The video card should be fine but u need a decent cpu for nulldc something like this http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819103677 |

Yeloazndevil is right, mobile cpus are expensive and a bit harder to ugrade. The best thing is to buy a newer laptop... Nulldc is CPU demanding, like most new emulators such as PCSX2.

That 2650e is a high energy efficiency model. Due too this it is too slow on a per instruction level compared to others. Even a five years old Pentium M 730 is faster than that. An Athlon LE-1660 should be enough for the job but I'm not sure if the cooling system on the laptop will be enough for it. Even an Athlon 64 3800+ could be enough (I'm not quite sure about that) but the same concern about the cooling system applies. Next time you upgrade (or get a netbook) make sure it is fast enough before spending your money on it.

I completely agree. I recently got a new desktop with a quad-core processor @ 2.6 Ghz and 8 gigs of ram, and I can run nullDC at 100% speed. You REALLY need to upgrade.

You should read more carefully. I didn't say that he must buy a new laptop for emulation... WHAT I SAID WAS THAT IF HE WANTS TO RUN NULLDC HE NEEDS A BETTER PC GOT IT NECKILLJO. If you read it carefully and you were slightly, minimally intelligent you'd see that. To comment and say nonsense sh!t it's better for you to be quiet. |

Hey hey hey, no trolling. It just upsets people. Anyways, there are some really good gaming laptops with lots of ram, fast multicore cpus, and good video cards. If he wants a laptop, then let him get one, just make sure it's fast and has a good cooling system. Personally, I'd go with a desktop, but it's his choice. For any computer to run nullDC, I'd suggest at least 2 gigs of ram, multi-core cpu at about 2.2Ghz, and a graphics card with at least 512MB of ram with reasonably fast speed.

in his case, i'd do the easiest and cheapest thing to change the cpu, if it's possible...
