I read that awhile ago, I guess he just feels it's not the future and isn't improving like other options; could be a biased opinion. I guess we will have to wait and see.

He's very concerned on the experience of the people with his products that's why flash was not supported on the iphone and will not be.

He's backing html5 and a lot of webpages are doing the same.

I really don't care about flash.

No, he was not.
Flash wouldve killed the new cash cow Apple was planning on: Admob (it was replaced by another ad system). Flash is the preferred ad format on the net. It's also used for ingame advertising, and there are already ads inserted inside iphone apps. Apple was after Admob before the ad system it ended byuing (google having snatched Admob from it with a higher acquisition price).

And why buy apps from the store if you can run Flash games ?
Its just the same as with websites like the WallStreetJournal. Buying an app to browse the exact same site whose browsing is free if you do it on anything but an iPad ?

Flash is itself a literal platform. Why go through hoops and follow the ultrarigid terms of the app store, if all you could do is just code stuff in Flash, and have it viewable on iPhones without signing your soul over to or paying Steve Jobs every time you wish to send a new app or a new version of it ?

That is why the licence terms in the iPhone developpers' terms of agreements specifically forbid Flash from appearing on the iPad, even if it worked perfectly, safely, was opensource and very energy-efficient.
It would be naive to think that Apple was not lying through its teeth for its own gain. The 'we wuv html5' excuse sounds more positive than then man-ing up and boldly stating it would've ruined 2 of their biggest mobile cash cows so they had to use any flexing power to coerce developpers into not using it (like by rejecting apps).
