this thread isnt violationg any of the rules here so im not going to close it but it really belongs in the game/console disc. section so im moving it there, this particular board is intended for trouble shooting-related questions/topics only.

btw squall if you want to get my attention on a matter it is better to either report it or PM me directly, what you are doing is borderline spamming and you should know better.

IMSHO PSX is the best, but I use it and EpsxE, EpsxE has nice graphics enhancements, but I don't think it is as accurate as PSX. Still, two emulators are better than one!

Adripsx was good the last time I used it :P. But I have to be honest and the answer is pSX emulator is the best, more accurate and it has the same graphics as the original Playstation

there are a few games that wont work on psx for those games i end up using epsxe. but i perfer the no nonesence of psx unlike epsxe where you have to fiddle with different graphic plugins just to get your games playable.

ePSXe cause of the enhancements and compatibility next in line comes pSX which is pretty accurate but also no enhancements.

ePSXe definitely. If one has enough patience to properply configure the plugins that is.

Pete's OGL2 plugin offers tons of possible configurations, from 'reaslistic' to 'enhanced', wich requires some learning.
But most people either don't know much about what it can do, or don't bother...

Immediatiely jumping to texture filtering and 2xSaI isn't the best thing to do.

Messing with display resolutions, internal resolutions, scaling/stretching, scanlines, framebuffer and shaders takes a lot of time but gives the best results.

The only side of ePSXe that's actually irritating, are the constantly respawning threads about bugs/problems with particular games, and that not many people know how to 'fix' or don't remember, but still answer.
And it goes like this for years and years (remember the Tomb Raider 1&2 problem?) wich I find too bad when there is a 'known' solution/fix.

Having these 'common problems/bugs' fixed in new versions of the emulator or plugins would be great (please don't stone me, I know emu authors have lives outside coding) but if these problems+solutions could be documented/grouped in one place that would already be awesome.

That's my only criticism about ePSXe, outside of that... it rocks.

ePSXe all the way. It has pretty much played everything I want, and it uses graphic plugins. And... it's also the one I was introduced to, so maybe there's a bit of bias.

ePSXe has better compatibility if you know how to set everything up properly for each game. This normally means searching for yourself to find good configs. Typically, only the big RPGs need a specific config anyway. You can also 'enhance' things if you are that way inclined by increasing the internal resolution of the game and such.

pSX works fine with most games with very little configuration. The compatibility is a bit lower than ePSXe, so its good to check the compatibility list first. Graphics are done completely in software, but if you are using TV out, you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference between the emulator and the real thing.

i use psx becuase it supoorts multi display unlike epsxe. ive got my tv hooked up to my pc for emulators and movies so i dont really need an off the shelf dvd player for my tv cuase i use my pc for ir. i could never get epsxe to work correctly on my tv without doing a lot of resizing and moving my setup around in the display manager on my pc unlike psx. psx just natively supports multi monitors which really helps me a lot.

Wrong, TV-Outs do not provide original low resolutions. Crappy, upscaled, interlaced S-Video is very far from the real thing, quite noticeable if you put them side by side !

I've never had a big issue using S-video with my regular, non HD TV. In fact, it looked slightly better than the real thing due to my configuration settings.
