What the hell have you been doing to it? I've had my Stinger longer and it's feet and cord are still just fine.

The cord has became frayed due to it scrapping along a rough part of my desk. (Its not too bad, just the cords fabric covering is starting to fray)
The feet have worn away prob due to not using a mouse mat and the fact my desks laminate is wearing away giving the mouse a rough surface to glide across.

My 5 button PS/2 intellimouse had a double click issue (problematic bunch, many mice were affected, warranty was over) so I had to change it.
The plan was to get the same mouse or at least something similar with 20 or less euros, preferably PS/2 compatible.

Now, being used to extra buttons for back and forward meant no turning back to 3 button mice.

Anyway, I could not find the same mouse nor any PS/2 compatible mouse locally around the target price, a Logitech M500 was 10 euros out of budget, Microsoft blue track mice are not extensively tested yet so I didn't risk going for a 4500 comfort to have it break on me later.

The end result was going for a 20$ Samsung ML-600G USB-only mouse (re-branded Genius Ergo 555). I only found one report of it breaking down all over the net so I'll think it'll be OK in the long run (and if it isn't, it'll be just me being unlucky and the thing will be replaced).

So yeah, 3200DPI laser mouse, 6 programmable buttons with macros, 100 step axis independent DPI change through the bundled software or on the fly through the mouse itself (manually adjusting DPI on each axis separately, on 100DPI steps, without the need of software is pretty neat, no? ), all that with 20$. Heck, I might end up getting a second one just in case of getting a new PC or whatever.

Only drawback is the lack of horizontal scrolling... but this should be "fixable" when I spare 5 minutes to find out how to assign that on the two remaining buttons.

Definitely recommending this mouse if you're on a tight budget.

0_o you had a G9 without a nice mousepad?

Dunno what to do about your desk fraying the cable but dude seriously the G9 deserves to be paired with a nice gaming mousepad, not doing so is a travesty.

The desk prob is easily solved by shaving away the sharp edges.

And yes, I am a fool for not using a mousepad at all.

Lesson learned for when I get my next mouse

Does your pointer shoot to the corner of the screen sometimes? My old Logitech Wheelmouse did on my desk when it started getting roughed up, and I got the LX3 (not only to fix that, I also wanted a newer, nicer mouse). It stopped doing it all the time, but did once in a Blue moon still. I got a mouse pad, and it stopped (and my desk was so tore up there anyway).

That's why. The surface of the desk after it's been roughed up causes it. Get a mouse pad and it'll solve it. In the years since I've gotten mine, I've had the cursor jump to the corner of the screen only once (which could've been from a bit of dust/dirt/hair or whatnot). Prior to that, it happened alot and it drove me insane.

Hehe, I've been using my MX518 daily since mid-2005, and the only noticeable wear is the Logitech logo (paint is wearing off) and the pads on the bottom. I have replaced the pads once, and will probably do so again soon.

My hats have to go off to MSI and Seasonic for their packaging. MSI have a lovely window to see the card and really tidy innards, but Seasonic take the cake, housing the cables in a tidy satchel for easy repacking and storing the PSU itself in a luscious velvety bag was a very nice touch.

Also the Noctua heatsink is a goliath! No wonder this thing has won so many awards, monstrous and beautifully crafted.

Now to do my homework and understand completely what I'm doing when assembling.

Yeah the box looks like it is a bit rough around the edges, but the internal packaging is really quite well padded and secure so I'm not too concerned about damage.

I am so pumped to build it, but I'm going to have to wait till Friday before I make an attempt. Watching all these videos on youtube, specifically for specific parts is starting to build my confidence and I am getting really hyped to put it together. I just hope the dvd drive I ordered will come through before the weekend, or I'll have to use an old IDE drive to tide me over (I really don't want to use it, but if I have to...).

Just remember to connect the plus 4 aux power to the mobo. When I built my first computer, that one had me confused for hours lol. It should be really easy though. Just take your time.
