I don't care cause they didn't care to bother with the PC as well (this being sort of a spiritual successor to X-blades and all).

That "UMvC3x" poster is claimed to be fake by Capcom. UMvC3 actually sold quite poorly so I would be surprised if they go for another release.

X-blades was terrible. Only the graphics were nice. Quote:
It sold more than half a million. Thats pretty good for a re-release and coming out at the same time as MK. |

Game Developers Conference Live Show Starting at about 10 minutes in, there's Tim Cain talking about working at Interplay and working on the first Fallout. It includes some fun stories. Like a game they wanted to make before Fallout : "You started in the modern world, you were thrown back in time, you killed the monkey that evolved into being humans, you went through space travel, you went to the future that was ruled by dinosaurs, you were exiled to a fantasy planet where magic took your back to the original timeline that you restored to full and came back to modern world to save your girlfriend." Acelips -> Special : "We wanted to name the system as well, because at the time people weren't naming games, but the system used in the game." "And since the system we eventually developed has these 7 stats : Agility, Charisma, Endurance, Luck, Intelligence, Perception, Strength, so I said just put them in that order and it spells : Acelips! That would be the name of our system!" "That lasted a day, until a designer came and said you know, you can rearrange those letters to make the name "Special" and it works a little better" Getting Win95 Certification by failing NT : "One day someone said hey, we want to put the W95 logo on the box" "But we failed Cert because it worked on Windows NT. I want to repeat that : we FAILED cert for 95 because it WORKED on Windows NT." "Now what the certification said was : it should fails *gracefully* on Windows NT. And I remember calling Microsoft and saying that it fails so gracefully that it doesnt fail at all. And they said nope, you can't do that." "So the lead programmer just recoded the installer to fail. It would detect that you ran NT, and just stopped." I really hope Obsidian soon makes a new IP instead of working for others. Or get an old IP of theirs. (Part of me hopes they're secretly behind www.baldursgate.com)

Damnit, I was about to post that. Yes, this is a great thing. Edit : On a related note, the Double Fine kickstarter is ending in approx. 10 hours. They reached 3 millions earlier.

Up to 1080 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9N85...layer_embedded (Same BF3 video) The reaction to the 3 future packs is CRAZY. For some reason this made people go completely mad. Somehow being able to choose what we prefer is a bad thing. Gamers are strange. If the Close Quarters pack has maps slightly bigger than the one they show, I'll get it. I like infantry combat, this seems like a great idea as long as the maps are just slightly bigger so we're not stuck with players abusing rocket launchers or shotguns.

BF elitist. They want all 3 packs to cater to them. I love both CQ and Open the same so i am getting all 3. Gunplay is BF3 is fantastic. Now if only they fixed the netcode. Getting behind cover and still get killed is my biggest problem. |

As infrastructure around the world gets better I'm sure lag will phase out, slowly but surely.

As far as I can tell, the servers are definitely the problem. Or most likely, a mix between the server and the netcode not being very good. When the game launched it was *perfect*. The big problem in previous BF games was hit-detection and being killed after moving behind cover/some delay when being hit. When BF3 launched, it all worked wonderfully. No more problems. Except servers would lag on some maps, and servers had a hard time with 64 players maps. Then they rolled a patch which changed a few things and... While hit-detection was the same, we started getting killed behind cover again. And that sucks.

Same with both you and the enemy killing each other at the same time. Gone at launch, back after patch 1.

Double Fine Live Stream event. Their kickstarter was a tremendous success with 3.3 million dollars. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/double-fine-adventure And the kickstarter for Wasteland 2 just reached the 370,000 in less than 24 hours. |
