Recent Sound Issues

I downloaded ePSXe 1.7.0 a while ago and have been using it fine for a long time. However, recently I've been using the Null v0.4 sound plugin so I could play music or other things in the background while playing the emulator, but now that I switched back to the ePSXe SPU core 1.7.0 the sounds slow down and are quite choppy. They also play random noises in the background (such as doors shutting in areas without houses).

I've also been toggling the framerate to play games at around 120 FPS.

Are any of these the issue? Regardless, what can I do to fix this?

EDIT: I figured out that the longer I play without the Null plugin, the more the sounds seem to correct themselves. Is there an updated version of the Null sound plugin that doesn't do this at all?

GPU limiting? Can you explain this? Google didn't provide any answers.

disable the frame rate limiter in the video plugin's config menu.

Ah, I tried that to no avail. Like I said, the whole thing, video and sound, worked fine with "nice" settings before using Null and messing with the FPS (since Breath of Fire 3 plays so contemptibly slow). Any other ideas?
