Save problem w/ fire red

Okay, let me just explain the situation

1-I didn't know you could use multiple save states when this happened
2-I was really pretty far into Poke FireRed and I saved with Apple+f just like normal. I closed the application and then later I came back to my computer to play and opened it.
3-I accidentally hit Apple+f instead of Apple+d, so instead of loading my previous state, i wrote over it at the opening credits of the game. i hadn't even used the menu save option once.
4-Am I totally ****ed or is there some way to get back what I lost?

That's what I thought. I just wanted to check. Well, thanks! At least now I can start over and catch Articuno...or as I like to call him Arti****o 'cause he's so difficult to catch

If you want to stop this from happening again, go to Tools->Customize, find the function that says Apple+F (or D), and change it to Apple+[whatever key is far away from the one you didn't change]. That way, the save key and the load key wouldn't be so close together and you have a lesser chance of pressing the wrong one. Just make sure that you delete the old button combination or else it will still work (which could cause problems).

P.S. Articuno's not hard to catch. Maybe the reason you're having trouble is because you're not using status effects. Status effects like Paralysis and Sleep make Pokemon easier to catch. Just don't use Burn, Poison, or Confusion because then you might accidentally kill the Pokemon you're trying to catch.

P.P.S. Don't rely entirely on your save states. I think you know why you shouldn't. Or do I have to explain it to you?

LOL, yeah i did catch him with snorlax's yawn, same with zapdos. Then I saved over my game. I mean, I realize what you mean by don't rely on save states, I'm just wondering what other options there are besides the battery save.

none, battery saves and save states, that's it and as far as the game is concerned battery saves are all it knows about so make sure to make one before the Elite4 or you can't play on after you beat them.
