Sorry to ask but...

I was wondering about my PC specs for pcsx2

Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+ 1.81 GHz with 1 Gb RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE

I know that pcsx2 will run slow with this but I would like to ask if is it enough to upgrade my cpu and not replace my graphics card?

Or should I also replace my graphics card with a better one?

Whatever you replace, the other thing will slow you down. Both are really weak for pcsx2

It's not even enough to run a model 2 emulator. Stick with PSX & N64 games.

You can't replace that graphics card, as it's an IGP.

Sadly, that IGP (Or any IGP for that matter) is too weak for PCSX2, even if you use GSDX.

Good thing I ask. Thanks for the info guyz. So the best thing would be to have a new CPU if I want to use pcsx2. (I'll try to fix my old ps2 before I buy a new CPU first).

Again thanks!

I couldn't play HD videos with an Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.80 GHz.

Both the CPU and Graphic Card are too weak for PCSX2.

Besides that, what new CPU do you plan on getting? Your motherboard will be far too old judging by this current CPU lol. Aside from that, you'd still need a better Graphic Card. Like Phil said; Get a new computer.

LOL!

I upgraded from a AMD Athlon XP3000+ @2.3Ghz coupled with a nvidia Geforce 6800LE. It can run model 2 Daytona USA just about perfect speed, but it can barely play a youtube HD video!! It's amazing that a 2Ghz cpu can't even play a youtube HD video properly, i wonder how an atom cpu of a netbook does that.

It's not youtube's problem. Blame adobe for making an unoptimized crappy flash plugin.
/me can't wait for the day when HTML5 replaces flash.

Sorry about that, what I meant when I said new CPU was a new computer. I am used to the word computer referring to the whole set of hardwares including the speaker, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.

Seems we need to do something about the stickies.

Maybe they are not clear enough or need a little revision.

This question is PERPETUAL.

@lonezero: Not directed to you, just suggesting that we can try to improve the info on stickies. So you guys can get detailed information on this type of topic.

Last I checked, my old Pentium 4 2.8GHz Northwood w/Hyper-threading played YouTube videos fine in HD back when I used it (but that was Flash 9 and not Flash 10, so I don't know if that matters).

your RAM is too low too.
Best bet is a new comp as I don't think you have a decent mobo our psu either.
It would be a waste of money on only CPU or GPU.

I do agree that the whole PC needs an overhaul, but the RAM amount is fine for PCSX2. I even tried it with 512MB on my PC once (though on Windows XP), and it was fine.

Heck if I remember? It was a while back, so like I said, if Flash 10 is more performance hungry, it might not be the case now. I'm almost positive I had no issues running HD on Youtube on that Pentium 4. When I was recently toying with the Cedar Mill in my current PC, I'm pretty sure it ran Youtube videos in HD fine, though admittedly, I can't remember if when I tried it was at stock speed (3.2GHz) or overclocked (4.5GHz), and that was but a few months ago. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure you don't need a Core 2 or something for Youtube...

well, PS2 uses up to 450MB of mem on my comp xD
unless virtual memory is enabled, but that would be realllly slow.
